Question:
Movies like -
"3 Ninjas"
"Beverly Hills Ninja"
Or anything like that...

Songs like -
"(I Think I'm) Turning Japanese"
"Kung Foo Fighting"
Or anything like that...

Do they bug anyone? If so, why?

Ok, another thing (again...) I rented the movie "Beverly Hills Ninja" and my mom suggested I watch it with my brother, except now I'm afraid to.. I feel like I need someone's permission/opinion on it, to make sure there's nothing racist in it that I don't want my brother to see... I don't feel as though I'm an adequite judge... some help, anyone?

Chinese food makes me sick sometimes, too. Some places make really bad hot and sour soup. Keeps me leaned over the toiled for hours.

Angel, I think it's a song he's talking about. Unless you were trying to be funny.

It's actually a line in the song. I'm just trying to say, in my own subtle way that a dislike for food does not equate to a dislike for the people who eat it.

Well, guess it's obvious I'm not into the contemporary music scene. Didn't know the lyrics.

I think those movies are silly... so I can't take them very seriously. I like the songs. Now, if I could just kill that damn Weezer song.

My Unwatchable list mainly includes any movie where you have the white hero who saves and screws a timid Asian chick and beats down an Asian bad guy.

You mean like the friggin huge Dolph Lundgren (6'4-6'7?) who beats plenty of Asian dudes and gets laid with the best looking Asian gal in Trouble in Little Tokyo?

Oh yeah. We all know that one. But any crappy movie like that will get my blood boiling if I sit down to watch it. Showdown in Little Tokyo was a must see because of my Brandon Lee obssession back in the day. I dated a fine hapa brother that looked just like him. Lucky me.

LFO's song totally blew.

Not only was that a poor attempt at rap, the lyrcal construction to that "song" makes Vanilla Ice and "gasp" even kid rock seem like lyrcal geniuses.

They just say some line about he loves the girl then he says a gibberish sentence that rhimes with the first sentence.

When you come around my heart starts beatin
Michael J Fox played Alex P Keaton

How is that supposed to sway the hearts of women?

Beverly Hills Ninja is the one with Farley in it right?

It was pretty funny.

during college, up in davis, they were playing this song a *lot*. once a few friends and i were at a pizza parlor awaiting a couple of pizzas. the song came on and we requested that they turn it off. the waiter refused, so we called the manager over and told him we no longer wanted our pizzas. we asked for a refund; they told us that our pizzas were already on their way out. (and they were.) we made a scene. the manager finally decided to give us a refund. by the time he came back with the money, the pizzas were already sitting on our table. we took the money and left.

i know this didn't make them lose very much money--but i'm hoping at least that it made them think twice before playing that song in their restaurant again.

Kasia,

Did they know why you wanted the song turned off or why you disliked it? If they don't understand that certain lyrics in the song are offensive, then they won't understand why you left.

Then again, for some people, you could've explained reasons until you were blue in the face and they still wouldn't understand.

You left a pizza parlor and demanded your money back just 'cuz they played a song you didn't like?

Even if you thought it was offensive, hopefully you understand that the pizza parlor probably just played a bunch of popular hit songs. And that happened to be one of them...
