Today, the Higher Education Institute of UCLA released an executive summary of their study concerning the entering class of freshman across the US. There's some interesting things in the study, especially when they discussed racial discrimination. Apparently, this year, the students who are coming in have one of the lowest beliefs that racial discrimination is a factor in the US. Among the lowest are APIAs and Whites. Yet, APIAs have the highest inter ethnic/inter racial interaction (perhaps only between us APIAs, eh?).
More women believe they have to work during their college careers while less men do. Also, the study points out that women actually manage time much better than their male counterparts, but at the same time, feel like they have to do so much more than their male counterparts. Maybe this is the glass ceiling for women and women feel as though to compete in a male dominated environment, they need to do more to even compare?
Check it out yourself, it's interesting to see who's going to college. Note: Look at the computer usage for racial category. Kind of expected I think.
