yuh. take kaplan. it's a little pricey, but worth it. i would send you my materials, but i gave 'em all away :(

i think the key is to do your kaplan homework and taking timed practice tests.

don't be nervous. the lsat's are much easier than the mcat's.

Thanks! After months of agonizing between Pediatrics and Radiology, I've finally decided Radiology. The allure of working at home viewing images on my computer and never having to drive in to work is pretty strong (probably not going to happen, but a guy can dream right?).

'99 Theta Xi, course 7

How did you like UCSD?
San Diego grows on ya.
The campus here is pretty beautiful compared to some other places I've been, populated with eucalyptus groves and esoteric art projects sponsered by rich nobodies. It stretches over a number of sq miles and borders the Pacific Ocean, Torrey Pines Golf Course (Buick Classic), La Jolla Cove ('The Jewel' of California), and a conveniant mall/University Towne Center.

The undergrad population seems a lil dead compared to my undergrad experience in Boston, but I can't give you an accurate picture since I'm not exactly an undergrad here. The campuses are divided into 5-6 colleges in an attempt to be British or something. The population has a large Asian (both AAmerican and FOB) percentage and Hispanic population as compared to other UC's and other schools in general.

As far as research and sciences are concerned, UCSD is amazing. Its ranked quite high for a school so young - esp. Bio, neurosciences, oceanography, asian-pacific studies, computer science, and more. (What will you be applying to grad school in?)

Tuition isn't too much of a problem since your going to grad school, but after 1 yr, I believe you can claim residency in Calif and pay in-state tuition if you pay.

As far as things to do in SD? see my post (http://forums.yellowworld.org/index.php?act=ST&f=35&t=179&s=91256bf4946adcee77f7a9aa4fee5786) in the Introductions forum. I'd love to show you around if you ever decide to visit or decide to come out here.

Anyhoo, hope this helps in the application process and good luck!

Sorry, this is a bit off topic.

Overall, I really liked my trip. Del Mar is so nice. I'd very much like to live in a city like that.

On Via de Valle, after you pass the Del Mar Racetrack out of Solana Beach into DM, there's this little restaurant. Kinda fancy shmancy. Anyway- waiter comes to take drink orders. Dad orders wine or champagne or something, and Mom orders what? BUTT light. Bud Light. Oh my goodness. It was the funniest thing. (Mom was born in Japan. She's lived here since age 13, but she still pronounces some things funny.) I corrected her, and she said I was making fun of her and threw a BIG fit. The laugh cost me $17k. It was a good laugh. Dad laughed. Brother laughed. I laughed. Waiter laughed. Dad and bro even managed to get pinched. Haha. (b/c bro was sitting next to mom. while she was throwing her tantrum rofl she pinched bro, then bro and dad switched spots, and she pinched pops)

We went to the Buca di Beppo in Mira Mesa, TWICE. LOL.

Just questioning, because what was written is in slight conflict to what was written here (http://rull.us/rbj/index.php?act=ST&f=30&t=410&st=39) .
As an undergraduate, I chased after one of my EE ta's. I only went on a few dates with her. :(

my last year of undergrad i dropped out (once again) of engineering due to personal reasons. and had enough credits to take ba classes during the last semester to secure me a degree first. :)

to get the BEng i need to complete the MEng course which was short of ergonomic requirements. which have been completed this month courtesy of taking exams at the british council. i dunno how to explain the master prgm. you don't go to graduation if you opt for 4 year route until you complete the fourth year? along with the courses. i worked on my dissertation for my msc this past year :) which was why i dropped out in the first place. i received a certificate. but not a masters because i didn't do the dissertation. :)
i got into the MSc program by pure string pullin. because my advisor sat on the board admissions to the school. "potential" did it for me.

Deciding on NY or Chicago for grad school location. Don't really care in what subject, just wanting an issue to live there.

Dude, when you lie, at least try to be realistic :P

Princeton doesn't have a B-school.

Try Princeton BA, Yale JD, Harvard MBA, and Hopkins MD, and Stanford PhD

I went to an overcrowded public high school in "the valley."
I now go to Amherst College and will be graduating in 2004. (This was definitely not my first pick, but I had to go where the money was being given out... )
No future plans (my parents are TRIPPIN.)

Well, I got teased a lot a Eton. It wasn't my fault I was a scholarship student. Still, I got a good education out of it.

I did get a Nimbus 2000 as a present from the headmistress at Hogwarts though.

- BA from the University of BC
- BSc from BC Institute of Technology
- Working on LLB from University of Durham
- Hopefully Harvard, Stanford, Yale or Columbia for LLM
- Possibly Harvard, Stanford, Yale or Columbia for JD if I scored above 170 on my LSAT last Saturday, in which case I'll be dumping the UK like a bad habit and moving to the US for law there.
