What are you having?

I am doing rice and steamed Chinese anchovies, Chinese sausage and preserved meat.

Related question: for those of you who have to heat up Chinese food at the office, did you ever get crap from you coworkers? Given some Chinese dishes are more pungent than typical American food...

Thank goodness I have my own office...

Got em' apples and bananas.

Usually I don't do veggies for lunch. Microwave ruins the cell structure and it gets way too watery.

does cup noodles count? i eat that maybe once a week. we don't have a microwave and we aren't allowed to have them (what kind of BS is that, i dunno), so i can't bring frozen meals or leftovers, unfortunately.

Turkey ham sanwich + 2 peaches + a bottle of 8 oz. Ocean Spring cranberry&grapefruit juice.

and yeah, sometimes I have to be careful about bringing ethnic food for lunch like Indian food, Chinese, or Thai. The odor can be strong especially on currly and the likes.

Water.... :frown: Is there such a thing as involuntary anorexia? B/c if there is I think I have it. I don't have time to go out to lunch and I barely make here on time as is so I rarely get to bring my lunch. The only time I really had time to eat lunch lately is if a nice co-worker offers to pick up something for me. But these crazy hours should end soon so then I will feast!

Well keep some candy/energy bar in your desk! It is bad for you not to eat for the whole day!

i buy these Japanese brand frozen dinners to take to work for lunch. it's either that or leftovers from dinner the night before. i don't really give a damn what colleagues may think of ethnic foods, but i doubt they care either way. we've got East Asians, Indians, blacks, and whites at the office, and even a couple of Persians.

good for you!! me either and i work with a whole bunch of white folks that practically beg me for my food anyway cos its alot more appetising than their fodder...
the only time i ever received a complaint was from a black woman and it was regarding my veggie burgers, she claimed they smelt really strong...personally i think its because i told her to keep her weave away from my food...there was always remnants of it scattered around the place..it was gross
today it was a wierd combo of veggie burgers...banana...sesame rice cakes and mixed nuts...yeah im poor at the mo  meki girl ya gotsta eat!!

Sandwiches. Tuna salad is my staple. I've brought in ethnic dishes but make sure they don't send strong smells around.

We had some Indian cow orkers nuke their lunches and it would send all sorts of aromas everywhere for the next few hours (and I always ended up cleaning the microwave and I didn't even use it). I think that's as inconsiderate as blasting a radio across the office. Noise pollution, aroma pollution, does not belong in the workplace.

personally i think its because i told her to keep her weave away from my food...there was always remnants of it scattered around the place..it was gross :eek:Gotta be more subtle than that. Just collect them and after you get a good amount, dump them on her desk before she comes in in the morning.

Whenever I eat thai food at the office, everybody smells it and inevitably they want to sample it and I'm all "no way! Get your own damn food!"

so now, to get back at me, we're having a potluck at work, and everybody has requested that I make the curry I was eating last week.

Roasted chicken breast on whole grain wheat bread. Couple of packages of fruit snacks, some celery, and cranberry juice.

i stopped bringing lunch because
it would usually be leftovers from the
night before and i just can't have
the same meal twice in a row.

and i can't cook dinner and then
cook something new for tomorrow's lunch.
then i won't have time to watch tv
in bed. kekekekekeke.

oh yeah but i always eats the samething
for lunch.
i'm a paradox.

Noise pollution, aroma pollution, does not belong in the workplace.

AMEN!

Whenever I reheat leftovers from the night before people say it smells really good. Leftovers are always Chinese, Korean, or spaghetti.
