wtf...? i wanted chow mein. i'm going to call and ask for my $2.00 back.
i hate false advertising.

i just called 1-800-993-8625 - their hotline. she asked me to read her the bar code, then put me on hold.

k, she's back. she said she is reporting my comments and will research why they chose the wrong name. she is sending me coupons for free lean cuisines for taking the time to call. good. she took my email address down to give me updates on the status.
reason why i think this is not just a frivolous matter: i don't want to allow a trend for lean cuisine or some equally ignorant frozen food company to be calling all foods asian "chow mein".

that just shows that they love to use us as gimmicks without really bothering to do any real research...in the UK recently they introduced this 'curry' (yeah right) and its name translated into 'shit' or something in one of the Indian dialects. this was brought to their attention but they still havent changed it!!
i think it reflects who these things are marketed to and make up the majority of their customers...they dont really care about 'authenticity'

I guess we haven't really even got to the part where the food (not to even speak of Asian food) that Lean Cuisine puts out usually tastes slightly better than cardboard...but....yeah

in general, not to many people complain, so placating them by tossing coupons at them is pretty cheap for the company.

Sad how they couldn't even detect something as simple as that? So how many coupons did you get?

the fucking crap is this. and good job for calling them
i just realized that i've never ate a frozen dinner.AMAZING. I actually like them because I'm weird.
Funny stuff. Years ago I was in Ohio for school. One day the menu at the cafeteria says "Chicken Chow Mein". So I was starving for Chinese food and I asked for some. Pretty much exactly what it was, stir-fried Chicken with rice and they sprinkled some fried noodles on top. Apparently in some parts of the country that is called Chicken Chow Mein...
Cracks me up thinking about it. Back then I could not either cry or laugh. Baffled the crap out of my mind and it still does. White folks...

The only good TV dinners I have eaten are spaghettis and lasagnes. All of the Asian food (translation, imitation Chinese food) sucks ass.

It's not really part of the frozen tv dinner family, but has anyone tried the somewhat-new Annie Chun's instant noodle bowls? I'm a little hesitant to buy one but the packaging sure looks good...

i should check the Lean Cuisine dinners i have in my freezer. they're a 4-pack of chicken stuff. but that just seems like such a big fat oversight for them to mislabel like that!! stupid people.

are you cookin'? :P i used to live on tv dinners in college. i would still be living on them if i was actually home long enough each day to eat dinner. they don't all taste *that* bad, altho some are definitely questionable. i love Trader Joe's frozen meals.

I used to think so too. And then I got some frozen "wasabi" shumai from the organic store near my cellblock. I was so hungry for it and thought I was getting over when I popped the ready-to-microwave tray into the microwave...
BLEEAAH! felt like waterlogged, superheated balls of you-know-what wrapped in paper with no taste or any of that "wasabi" shtick...waste of 4 bucks! I learned then that there are some things you're better off buying from restaurants!

Did you get your free coupon? I think we should all call and correct them on their mistake and also with a barcode so we'd get free coupons at the same time.

Did you get your free coupon? I think we should all call and correct them on their mistake and also with a barcode so we'd get free coupons at the same time.I don't think it's that hard to get free or discount coupons from companies. A couple of years back I sent a website generated message to Northland (took all of 2-3 minutes). I had been buying Cranberry Blackberry juice from a local retailer and that retailer appeared to stop carrying the product. So, I sent a message to inquire about other possible retailers in the Bay Area. They never sent me an email back, but snail mailed me back a super short letter and included several coupons.
