Ladies, what physical or mental feature do you think will leave you once gravity starts sagging your bodies or minds? Do you think you'll become senile first or do you think that your skin will wrinkle before your hair turns grey?

Gray hair for me. I started getting it when I was 20.

i'm very much afraid of the physical effects of aging. i don't want to wrinkle. i don't want gray hairs. i don't want to sag. i don't want any of that. but i do want a husband and kids. =)

I think I'm gonna wrinkle first. Rgh. >_< At least I won't get saggy boobs unless I really wear them out.

On the physical appearance side I think women tend to age a lil' faster than men

the thought of getting old, scars me, period.... loosing independence.

I dont want to be old and sickly.... I'd rather die when I'm healthy and kicking... Cause I dont like to depend on anyone, and the possibility of being old, weak, half here and not...is scary. And since I'm at higher risk of having lots of physical problems in life, being old and disabled is a good possibllity...EEK... I'll go physical appearence wise and overall health..downhill..oh fun.

so i want to die young and healthy..people dont understand when I say this, grrr.

girls, it all goes downhill after 23. i didn't used to think so. and now after a hard nite of partying, i see the wrinkles, the lines, the bags, the circles. the dewy youthful glow no longer clings to my skin. if i'm sick; i look it. if i haven't had enuff sleep; it shows. if i eat ice cream, i see the effects. my body is just not the same at 25 as it was when i was 20. i need all my precious sleep. if i don't get it, it's blatantantly obvious.

it's also in the attitude. i don't have patience for things. i don't have energy to waste on useless trivialities.

enjoy your youth. revel in it.

okay, okay, enough of the depressing talk.

honestly tho, i think asian women definitely age much better than caucasian women but we still all age. it's inevitable. what we can do is to love ourselves and as time goes on, hope that it's kind to u. if not, there's always botox. but it all realy boils down to attitude. if u embrace urself in whatever incarnation, then how can others help but see / feel that.

u know those women/girls who really if u look closely aren't all that beautiful/sexy/etc. but who make all the heads turn? it's all about attitude....

i'm flat chested as it is.. so i dont have to worry about sagging when it comes to old age... and i think i'll get grey hairs before i wrinkle... cuz like yeah, i got my first grey hair like a few years ago... and i still have it... i taped it on my bathroom mirror like for a souvenir... and wellz, when it comes to becoming senile... i think i would rather be dead... i wouldnt like to live that type of life... and losing my independance...

As long as I can move without pain, I think I'll be happy physically. Going senile would really suck though.

I dont know if its me but I think lots of Asians gray early.... I have some gray hair...my younger bro, 19 had a whole lot,... My dad grayed early..... Maybe it's a familial thing in my family, but I've seen it alot in other Asian people.

I have white hairs every now & then ... ;) and my mannn just noticed a couple on the back of my head the other day, and he sounded all shocked......like he was thinking..... 'damnn... my GURL'z getting OLD'.... (whatever. he should talk!) :P

but back to the original question -- I think I'll get gray and show age on the outside before my mind starts to go....... I think it's important to always make your brain work... like don't just VEG out all the time in front of the tv... etc..
(this comment prolly doesn't apply much to you studious students w/ no time to even sleep... but for those in the working world.... sometimes after work - it's really hard not to VEG... but I try to fight it....)

I wonder if it's just more noticebale because we have black hair? I noticed my first grey hair when I was 19. Now, he's got friends, and I have to keep my hair cropped pretty close. No Just for Men for me (at least not yet anyways)

Oh it's no less noticeable on brown hair. Trust me on that one. I was hoping for those red hair genes of mine to compensate for getting gray hair early but I got shafted.

yeah. i totally understand what you mean.

death doesn't scare me at all.
it's the aging part that i fear...

it'll probably be my mental health... i've been accused of being senile already..

i totally understand. if i could choose when to die, i think now would be a good time. i'm really scared of getting alzheimer's or any other mentally debilitating disease where i'll be in the care of others. i don't want to be a burden.

as for me, my memory will be the first thing to go. it's already pretty faulty anyway.

I wanted to cry after I read that. I just turned 23!

Sigh...so my body will not get any better and will sag evermore as the grains of time...

Oh, I don't care. With age you get confidence and experience. No one will be young forever and surgery, botox, or whatever will eventually make a person look like a blow up doll or the Catlady. Maybe if people stop worrying about how they look, they'll get less wrinkles and grey hairs.

But back to the original question, I am eternally fearful of gaining weight. At the same height, I weighed nearly 20 pounds more than I did at age 16. Will the curve continue to rise or do I need to jog 20 miles a week? Answers I need answers.....

I hear ya babe... all'o the women in my family have pretty much gained weight over the years and I've been fearing the same.

Not to mention that w/ the added weight, most of em in their poh poh (grandma) years have shrunken a few inches as well.
....sigh....
I dunno if I have the answers, but getting enough sleep, drinking H20 and eating healthy helps... or, that's what I'd like to believe......at 26... and not getting any younger..... :(

I think what I'll lose first as I get older is the elasticity of my skin. Come on, it's human nature. Then, maybe i'll get arthritis b/c my grandparents seem to get that a lot. Not sure if it's hereditary. If not arthritis....carpel tunnel but you can that even if you're young. Hmmm...so, i guess it would be the elasticity of my skin first, then the color of my hair.

I thought smiling could actually add more wrinkles, but it does take less muscles to smile than to frown. :D

i have a dimple on my right cheek. i'm scared of having a long saggy wrinkle on my face because of it. gah, if it's THAT bad, i guess there's always cosmetic surgery.

I've already got the beginnings of fine lines on my forehead. I have to look really closely (holding the mirror one centimeter from my face) to see them but they're there.

I guess there's always botox.
