I assume that most stalkers are men who stalk women, but have you ever had a woman stalker? Or heard about some woman stalking a guy?
A woman, like who constantly contacted you or tried to find out where you lived? Constant invitations and saying strange things in front of other people about you... They act kind of irrationally and its quite scary. Just wondering...

I'd take any woman who is interested in me.
But knowing my luck, she'd end up accidently seeing my neighbor through his window and start stalking him instead...

Actually, if you go by news and movies, females do just as much, if not more, stalking than men.

The worst part about having a stalkeress is that the cops will be on HER side. You file a report with the COPS and they LAUGH and talk about how "lucky" you are. People who don't know the whole story'll be to you like: "What did YOU do to her?" or "Why do you treat her so bad" etc., and make the MAN into the bad guy for doing something to make the girl stalk him & such.

Yea I hear that. I'm fairly good looking and have also done my fair share of stalking back in the day. One time I waited for her to get back from work and it was like 3 in the morning and I knocked on her window after she refused to acknowledge my wave in the parking lot and ran into her apartment (how rude). Then she called the cops and they had to chase me down and gang up on me with tasers and gas. *sigh* What a world, what a world~~

She was in her 30s, still pretty good looking for that age, she looked a lot younger. Didnt really 'date' per se, she kept inviting me over to her house to teach her kids English and stuff. I thought that was all so I kept going over, she cooked dinner, and we talked alot and stuff. When her husband wasnt around of course. But later it got too wierd so I stopped. That was last year. She still tries to contact me, like she tried to ask a friend my new phone. Luckily no one told her.

Usually, it turns out that my stalkers are friends of girls I actually like. As you can imagine, this fucks things up beyond all imagination.
Reminds me of this white woman who was obssessed with me (quasi-stalker). Bunch of us went to see "Black Mask" (Great original comic book, movie sucks!). During a fight scene she yelled, "Look at all that Chi!"
I never showed her my Chi, of course...
"Look at all that Chi?"

I personally never had a woman stalker. Wouldn't want to deal with one either. Mostly cause I have better things to do and I don't need the drama.

Doesn't sound like much of a stalker in my opinion for just trying to get your new phone from your friend.
I was semi-stalked/sexually harrassed by a big Indian chick in Kuala Lumpur over summer of 2003. She saw me at a club on a Monday and then spotted me from outside a bar on a Saturday and totally stared at me like she did on Monday (I stared at her a bit on Monday b/c I thought she and her friend be Malay-Euro mix, they turned out to both be Punjab). She was big time touching/smooth talking/flattering me... more aggressive than most guys who first introduce themselves to a girl.

Actually, like i said, it got a bit wierd later, so i stopped... like she said that her kids liked me better than their own father, etc.. then she tried a few times to do something, touching in places, came on way too.. But like shit her own kids are in the house and stuff, so its like, just way too creepy. Gross! After i stopped, she sent me emails everyday even if i didnt reply, so had to change my email. Then I bumped into her, she'd say she saw me somewhere with some girl, and asking questions, etc. Yuck, just thinking about it again.. :frown:

She was merely a semi-stalker. Heck, I'm not even sure if what she did is even considered stalking... but more coincidence and aggressiveness on her part.
I had a gay Malay guy with long hair in a tanktop follow me on the other side of a few trees and a ditch outside Q-bar in Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur. This was for about 5 minutes... now that's the ultimate form of stalking... following and looking... I wasn't scared.

Was also once followed by a group of 4 young gay dudes not far from the nightclub Nouvo in downtown KL, not far from the Petronas Towers. They like to assume that other dudes (such as myself) who wear tanktops are also gay (aka CSers). Sensing what they were trying to figure out I immidiately made sure to look at several of the females when I crossed the street with them trailing not far behind even though I normally would not look at those girls for as long (cuz they weren't any good IMO). Then the homo dudes were like, "oh no, he's as straight as can be". Phew, that was a close one!

Some articles on Women Stalkers. It seems that male therapists and doctors in their 30s are usually the targets of female stalkers. I dont know about 'race' related stalking though. Im sure it happens, but maybe not enough research yet
http://mentalhealth.about.com/cs/womensmentalhealth/a/stalkers.htm
Female Stalkers tend to Pursue Therapists & Physicians
From Leonard Holmes, Ph.D.,
Most stalkers portrayed in the media are male, and they are usually portrayed as stalking a lover or ex-lover. Incidents involving female stalkers seem less common; but the high-profile stalking of David Letterman and Brad Pitt have focused attention on the fact that women also stalk. A study in the December 2001 issue of The American Journal of Psychiatry by Rosemary Purcell and her colleagues looked at the characteristics of male and female stalkers. The authors found that female stalkers were different from male stalkers in several ways:
Male stalkers reported a history of criminal offenses. Higher rates of substance abuse were also noted among the male stalkers, but the psychiatric status of the groups did not otherwise differ. The duration of stalking and the frequency of associated violence were equivalent between groups.
The nature of the prior relationship with the victim differed, with female stalkers more likely to target professional contacts and less likely to harass strangers. Female stalkers were also more likely than male stalkers to pursue victims of the same gender. The majority of female stalkers were motivated by the desire to establish intimacy with their victim, whereas men showed a broader range of motivations....
A female stalker typically seeks to attain a close intimacy with her victim, who usually is someone previously known and frequently is a person cast in the professional role of helper. While the contexts for stalking may differ by gender, the intrusiveness of the behaviors and potential for harm does not. (Purcell, et.al., 2001)
The researchers found that 40% of female stalkers pursued someone with whom they had professional contact, such as psychiatrists psychologists and family doctors (compared to less than 20% for males while only slightly more than 20% stalked intimate partners (compared with 30% for males). Almost half of the female stalkers pursued other females, while less than 10% of males pursued other men.
Male stalkers were more likely to have had a history of criminal offences and substance abuse. In a copyrighted story in Reuters, Charnicia Huggins quoted Purcell as saying: "When women engage in stalking behavior, they are as tenacious and as intrusive as their male counterparts, and are just as likely to threaten or damage property... In our group of female stalkers, there was a particular tendency to pursue helping professionals...as professional concern or empathy of these individuals was often re-interpreted as romantic interest."
It is also interesting that the study looked at 150 male stalkers and 40 female stalkers. This suggests that males probably are more likely to stalk than females - or at least that they are more likely to get in trouble for this behavior. As barriers between the sexes continue to come down these will these gender differences persist? Hopefully follow-up studies will answer this question.

"Female stalkers and their victims" in Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry Law. 2003;31(2):211-9.
Meloy JR, Boyd C.
Department of Psychiatry, University of California, San Diego, USA. jrmeloy@san.rr.com
Demographic, clinical, and forensic data were gathered in an archival study of 82 female stalkers from the United States, Canada, and Australia. Female stalkers were predominantly single, heterosexual, educated individuals in their mid 30s who had pursued their victims for more than a year. Major mental disorder and personality disorder were suggested, especially borderline personality disorder. They usually threatened violence, and if they did threaten, were more likely to be violent. Frequency of interpersonal violence was 25 percent, but there was limited use of weapons, and injuries were minor. Stalking victims were most likely to be slightly older male acquaintances; but if the victim was a prior sexual intimate of the female stalker, her risk of being violent toward him exceeded 50 percent. Unlike male stalkers who often pursue their victims to restore intimacy, these female stalkers often pursued their victims to establish intimacy. Common emotions and motivations included anger, obsessional thoughts, rage at abandonment, loneliness, dependency, jealousy, and perceived betrayal. Results are interpreted from a clinical and risk management perspective.

I think men are called 'stalkers' and women are called 'psychos'.
So what if the mental disorder is caused by the person being stalked dark humor and sense of fun?
Here's the scenario:
The guy is a casual dater -- likes to have an attractive lady on his arm.
The lady is a traditional minded lady who spent most of her young life growing up with her grandmother.
Sparks fly. She likes him a lot. He's the one, she thinks.
After three dates, he realizes he's not ready for marriage. It'd spoil his playboy image.
He dumps her.
She tries to reconcile. He rebuffs her.
Text messages follow along with voice mail.
Meanwhile, he has to change his phone number.
She still finds it.
What is he doing throughout this? replying to her text messages, even complaining about this private stalking online in a public forum.
Within two weeks of that message, she loses it completely and jumps two stories, and is slightly injured.
Finally, before she can meet a new friend, her mother shows up with her ex-boyfriend (not the ex-lover who rejected her) and carts her off to the psychiatric ward.
Within two weeks she sees through the ex-lover's lies and realize that she was *manipulated* into becoming his stalker.
As long as you engage your stalker, you fuel the fire.
You shouldn't reason with them or talk to them as though they could hear you.
So I would feel that, in some cases, stalkers and their "victims" are both creators of the mental "disorder".
The psychosis is always temporary, and may be relieved by spending time temporarily institutionalized.
In order to get privileges, the former stalker will eventually comply to the house rules.
Hence, the term "psycho" is false and misleading. And sometimes, the victim may have contributed to the creation of his or her stalker's harrassment.
sageb1
05-02-2005, 09:26 AM
Follow up on my stalker story:
the "victim" harrassed his "stalker", which resulted in mania and/or psychoses.
however, the mental disorder was more of a harm to her than to him.
her mania/psychosis was a way of coming to terms with the double bind between her love and compassion for her lover and the mind's natural tendency to repress these intense emotions.
remember: she had a strong emotional reaction to him, due to long talks about his life (usually reserved for when you're of the marrying kind, which he wasn't due to being such a playboy).
so when someone tells you "I love you, you crazy psycho. Go kill yourself. I'll even buy the pills", and you react by making excuses for his behavior and then get back at him by leaving 11 text messages on his cell and 5 voicemails, then you're not a stalker.
You're a victim of abuse.
When I hear about women being stalkers, I want to know why the victim pissed them off so much they had to use such ineffective tools to get their man.
Thus, in some cases, mental disorders can be precipitated or worsened by the so-called victim's abuse of his stalker.
Think about it.

She said 'Your mom said you were here. I thought I'd stop by to say Merry Christmas.' I said 'Wassup? Merry Christmas' and closed the door. I didn't do that on purpose though. I was in the middle of playing Metroid: Prime and was preoccupied at the moment but in retrospect, it hurt her feelings and I think she wanted to come inside. Ain't heard from her since.
But yeah I've said some mean shyt before but most of the time it was unintentional like this one stalker I told her she had a unibrow but that was because I was on Percocet cause my wisdom tooth got taken out. She ain't talked to me since.
I've had (still have?)internet stalkers but I go through so many screen names them bitches can't keep up with me. get comfortable doing it by yourself to whatever music you feel
then maybe join a class or club at a univ or go clubbing with some friends.
clubs are dark and when people are drunk. people hardly dance really well anyway.

Yup, it totally sucks, when it's not someone that you really find attractive. In my case it was vietnamese chick in my engineering department, I really didn't belong in engineering anyway, I'm still kicking myself for not changing to an art major and getting together with all the casual-sex free-interacial love with Hippie but quite pretty white chicks.

Art majors get more game which would probably help alot with socializing with the rest of society.
'Geers however... coff coff.
I heard about women stalkers. They tend to occupy higher social status and their feeling of entitlement and possessiveness lead them to agitation when their counterpart males look elsewhere in ethnic gene pool for dating/mating/marriage. These girl stalkers incessatntly call their male counterparts and ask out on date, meeting or say, "Now will you marry me." Some of these women strip tease and rape their males.
At other times they arrange to have "ethnic" significant other of these men they think they are entitled raped and murdered. Sometimes they get on the phone imitating to be the ethnic inferior female demanding sex to starngers thereby making them look like hooker on the high road.
I heard these stories ove and over again.
