downloaded and watched it a while ago definitely a must see in its orginal japanese form.
Spirited Away was a great movie (even bootleg vcd version). I really wanna watch the original on a big screen, but not playing in enough theaters.

Talking about Spirited Away, can anyone tell me where/how I can get a copy of Laputa: Castle in the Sky (in English or Cantonese). Thanks!

i'd go see that w/ u but i live in the socal area.
i saw this in the theater, however dubbed, but i will say the voice acting is above and beyond what happened with princess mononoke despite that one having an "all star cast". the only kinda notable one is that the girl who plays sen(sp?) is the girl who did the voice for lilo of lilo and stitch (duh ryan)
but yeah its a great movie

Crud Man.... Adaon I have Spirited Away at my house. Without the american dubbing, it's all subtitled baby!!! Ah the joys of Kazaa and DSL.
As for the movie, I didn't enjoy it as much as I did for Nausicaa or Laputa or even Kiki's delivery Service. I dunno... freakishly big heads scare me. But that's just me. As for Metropolis, I didn't enjoy that either. I tried to watch it with a couple of friends, but we ended up falling asleep. It wasn't at all exciting in any way.

Spirited Away was awesome. Watch it in the japanese dialog format. It was well worth the download. DIVX, 2 cds, can barely tell the difference.
For you NYC heads, I went to Manhattan Chinatown and picked up a boxset (which I found out later was a boot) and it has like 12 of the Studio Ghibili movies, including Mononoke, etc. The quality was still very good. So if you have no qualms about boots, it comes in a silver box with a big Totoro on the side. Check it.
Laputa was kinda nyeh ... it was like a rip of Nausicca with some minor romance in it. Kiki's Delivery Service is very G-rated and a feel good movie, but still very good. If they could be ranked, I guess it'd be Nausicca, Spirited Away, Mononoke, Kiki, Totoro, Porco Rosso, Laputa, and a few others I have yet to see.
Metropolis was kinda boring too. I saw the original 1929 German silent movie that the anime was based on ... fell asleep through that too. Guess I have no appreciation.
Man, I feel like such a geek. <_< I've seen all these animes, and probably more. Good thing I have a friend who collects this shit like people collect stamps.

Umm, yea..... spirited away was about... WHAT WAS IT ABOUT?!!! I mean, it's like everyone's stoned and things fall in and out of place? And love? Wth?! How can they talk about it, when it hasn't even happened?? Sheesh....
Anyway, like I said before... big head grannies freak the shit out of me. And river gods who smell like crap... that freaks me out too. Hell... a lot of things freaked me out. But I wish I was like Haku though...
RAGING RIVER DRAGON POWER!!!!
alright, maybe I'll stop with the Power Ranger calls...
