a simple, easy to cook, low maintenance aka little clean up afterwards and can cook in bulk and refridge it type meal.

I'm sick of eating out, it's the same stuff over and over again. But I'm also on this high protein low carb diet (to maintain my cuts, yes I admit it's narcissistic on my part).

I used to just grill up some chicken breasts and turkey burgers in bulk make enuff for a week and fridge it. But, gah it's so bland. I need some variety.

Suggestions? <nudges Hello_Hapa> and <nudges Janet>. Is the George Foreman grill worth getting?

It doesn't have to be anything specific. But, I was excited to see HH's receipe, but then I was like damn that's all carbs! Curses!

I'm getting desperate, no one around me knows how to cook and my mom offers to cook bulk for me and to let me bring it back to my crib, but I refuse because of her arthritis.

Help me to feed me damnit!

i considered the high protein diet... but quickly decided i couldn't give up rice. hahhah!

Well, outside of the more specialized things, Mr. HH usually gets one fish + one veggie + rice, and a soup because I guess Taiwanese really love soup.

So I tend to stock lots of salmon from Costco that I cut up into two-person servings (tiny actually, we don't eat a lot of meat) and stick in the freezer. I buy a lot of shrimp and various white fish too.

Veggie I usually do the same way regardless of the veggie, the way his mom taught me. Always fresh veggie, cooked with ginger or garlic, and/or some salt. Really simple. Lots of exceptions though, bitter melon is the first that comes to mind. Bamboo shoot too. Mustard green.

Anyhow, I'll post some recipes separately. Or maybe typing them up in word and emailing them to you would work better? Would give me a chance to pay back that favor I owe you.

Smoothies can be a great source of protein if laced with protein powder. Why not invest in a blender and some fruit to mix in the beverage? Easy to create variety and a tasty additive (in my opinion) to the meat dishes.

Yeah I have protein powders and protein bars to help meet my minimum protein requirement. I munch on a bar like every 3 hrs. I buy my whey protein powders and my bars from www.bodybuilding.com, since they are almost wholesale prices. But, it seems like I've been living off bars and proteins more than solid meals.

My mom taught me how to cook, but it requires too much effort, preparation and clean up. Yah, I'm lazy.

And HH whatever is easier for you. Prolly post them, since others can "borrow" your recipes.

Thanks guys.

Don't talk like that, you don't owe me shit and besides it was my pleasure. It's what I do for a living. That's a big part of the reason why I went to medicine (besides no clue on politics, law, or artistic ability hahah) to help the asian peeps. And as the saying goes, woman, "da jia zo shi zhonguo ren." Excuse my piece of shit pinying, sorry no Chinese programs, prolly wouldn't even know how to use it. Now when are we going to sizzlers?!?!? We can do Red Lobster if you prefer! Mmmmm, lobster.

Edit: Bleh Spam <cringe>

The George Foreman grill could possibly be your most important purchase as a single man -- that or PS2.

I use the grill for everything now, except for my Sappiro noodles.

Not enough Kcals, boo.

I need about:

300-350 grams of protein
100-150 grams of carbs
20-30 grams of fat

about 2500 kcals per day to maintain an anabolic state and not go into catabolism.

I'm gonna pick up the Foreman Grill sometimes this week, thanks AB.

by the way, how do you deal with the problem of eating out with friends? i find that that really gets in the way when i get myself on a really strict diet. one night out with friends means possibly a very fatty meal. and maybe lots of beer.

I splurge when I'm, out with friends which is like once a week. But basically, I just cut out all the processed carbs like no fries, baked potato and rice. But, I still toss around the alcohol, hehe.

But basically is no carbs after 3pm, for my normal routine.

Be alot easier to find another woman that can cook and keep her on the side and on the d.l. Rather than put in the effort to try and domesticate the current one.

Beside's not my job, it's her momma's.

J/K btw

..ok bun boy..here's my two best GF recipes...don't share them with anyone... <_<

Grilled Lemon Oregano Chicken
1/2 tsp grated lemon peel
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano
2 cloves garlic -- crushed (2 to 3)
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (pounded to about 1/2 inch thick)
Combine all marinade ingredients. Add chicken breast halves to the marinade. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Grill until done (approximately 4-5 minutes on the George Foreman grill).

Teriyaki Finger Steaks
2 pounds boneless sirloin steak
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons minced onions
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 garlic clove -- minced
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Trim fat from steak and slice lengthwise into 1/2-in strips; place in a large glass bowl. Combine all remaining ingredients; pour over meat and toss gently. Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Drain, discarding marinade. Loosely thread meat strips onto skewers. Grill over medium grill, check for doneness after 3 or 4 minutes.) Remove from skewers and serve.

My source of carbs comes from veggies and unprocessed carbs (rye, wheat, yams etc etc)

Hehe thanks for tips.

Hey C-boy, can't give advice on the high carb stuff. But I can tell you the best investment I've made this year was the "rotessier" they sell on TV (you know the one where everyone shouts, "Set it and forget it"), and the "Food-saver" And my ever faith George Foreman, which I brought three years ago, (used the damn thing so much, I'm on my 2nd one!). The food-saver is the best. I buy in bulk, divide it and seal it up.

Hey, I seen that on fox 5 in one of those early morning infomercials. Thanks for the recommendation, had second thoughts about buying it after I picked up the phone. Good looking out.

hey no problem, just get the compact one. It's big enough to cook an over roaster or two small cornish hens. Best part is easy payments. Food saver was through AOL, also easy pay
