I was wondering if any one knew of a Japanese vocalist who's style is really haunting and airy?
Like Enya, Loreena MacKennit or even Sarah Brightman?

Sort of like this track from Macross plus

Hmm, Maaya Sakamoto and Akino Arai are what I can think of but not all their stuff are like that.

Yes, the Hack.//Sign OST has some NICE songs... unfortunately I can not think of any Japanese artists that sound like that. If there were any, I don't think they'd be all that popular..

I knew that Maaya Sakamoto was the voice of hitomi from escaflowne but i didnt know she had done music outside of that series. It liiks like she has worked with Yoko Kano producing.
It should be interesting to check her out further.
