Makeup: Asian skin tends to be smooth and poreless with yellow undertones.

Foundation should have yellow tones in it. Try mixing a yellow tint foundation with a shade to get the color that works best with your skin. Blues, reds and purples look beautiful on Asian skin.

i've seen this more than once. what do they mean by 'yellow tones'? have you tried it? and is it really more natural-looking?

Judging by the girls in K-town.... all they use is white foundation and powder, no yellow to be found.

Have you tried it Kasie? I don't think your skin is yellow at all, I'm wondering if that's just a stereotypical snide remark made by someone that is "in the know." Losers.

I've never seen any of my gf's put on yellow toned make up before.

*shrug* I had some make-up professionally done in Asia once and it matched my Casper skin. She used the same stuff she used on other brides.

Did wherever you got the quote from also recommend yellow tones for any other group or just Asians?

I've read tips from Black make-up people recommend yellow tones for Blacks. For Black people with yellow/golden undertones to their skin opposed to red or cooler undertones. Not the whole racial group.

I think it's for anyone with yellow/golden undertones.

i have foundation with "yellow tones" rather than "red tones". i think there is a difference. most makeup is for red-toned people aka white people. yellow-toned makeup blends in and matches better. when i was looking for a foundation, a woman at Sephora really took the time to find me ones that were more yellow-toned (i ended up with Lorac and i really like it). she also mentioned that while Shiseido is marketed to asian women, most of their makeup is very red-toned.

although i don't really agree with

i got me some big pores. at least thats what a makeup lady once told me.
