Although it isn't the recommended habit, what kind of snack or food do you usually eat if you're up in the middle of the night? i ask b/c i'm wired and hungry at almost 3am now.

As for me, it depends... whatever i have that's easiest to make...
Tonight, i'm going to boil chicken broth and dump cubes of tofu in it til it boils and eat it. YUMMY....

What satisfies your craving in the middle of the night?

I just had a humongous bowl of Honey Bunches of Oat with Almonds.

Gotta love cereal.

Whatever's readily available. Tonight, I ate me a bunch of baby carrots along with some mooncake, all washed down with a tall glass of orange juice.

whatever is around. but it's usually some kind of bread, cereal, cookies or crackers. i love me some carbs late at night.

last night, i had a tortilla (heated on the stove) with butter at about 2:30am.
the night before, red bean bread.

Salty food, like shrimp chips or dried seaweed with rice. But I'm an opportunistic snacker. Whatever's available.

i like to relax in bed with ice cream. popsicles.
chocolate or hard candy.
especially popsicles but it sucks having
to get up so often to get more.
hehehehehe.
oh god. i'm such a candy fiend.
but if a particular fruit is in season i'll overdose on
that. in the summer, it's usually concord grapes.
in the colder months it's pomegranate and tangerines.

so i guess i like sweets.

mmm baking ... sometimes when i'm in the mood, i'll bake a banana cake and serve it hot straight from the oven with vanilla ice cream. it's so good, it makes me fall into deep sleep.

love cold takeout left overs, though they're rare and in between for me, since most food don't last past the table for me, in a restaurant. Some cold pad thai would sure hit the spot though.=)

Bananas are the best midnight snacks, and they're perfect for me because I don't like them that much so I won't stuff myself silly with them. No messy hands, baby. Or oatmeal, oatmeal is perfect anytime.

Instant noodles are my favorite midnight snacks. Are there certain ones that are low in fat, preservative-free and still taste good?
