What's the safest way to remove a university parking sticker from a car? I've already done a few internet searches on this recommending nail polish remover but that didn't sound like the smartest thing to subject the paint to.

Option 1
Use WD-40! Saturate the sticker, let it marinate for 10 minutes...then commence peeling.

Option 2
Use a hairdryer or heat gun to heat up the sticker. Once it beomes soft, commence peeling. Remover residue w/ ETOH or WD-40.

Option 3
Use a razor blade.......(the best method.......only if you have good psychomotor skills)

Option 4
Take it to a professional..

Where's the parking sticker? If it's on glass, use a razor blade. If it's on a painted section, a good hosing with WD-40 as mentioned above will do the trick for modern car paints.

WD-40 will eat paint. Don't ask me how I know.

I would ask at the car parts store. Is it on your painted car bumper? Do you want a presidential campaign sticker to cover it up?

WD-40 does not dissolve paint if it is remove in a timely manner. Bird shit is more acidic than WD-40. Isolate the area and use WD-40 to remove the residue.

Though it chafes my hide to admit when commando is right, this is what the guy at the auto parts store said. Either that or this stuff called Goof-off.
