I got the frizzy hair blues. Anyone else get this, or is it just my hapaness? No matter what I do, flat iron, hair serums, nothing short of hair wax is taming the frizz. But the wax makes it look so stiff and greasy. My hair is naturally wavy/curly, but when the humidity is up, it just looks like a ball of tangled strings.

Gimme your cures.

My hair is always frizzy. I like it. So I let it stay that way....I don't know how to "fix" it...

Someone try Frizz Ease while I try the Fructis serum I bought at Target yesterday. Together maybe we can cover all the products that claim to cure frizz. Post your product testimonials. I am dead serious.

Oh also it helps if you wash your hair the night before and sleep on it. That way your hair isn't as dry in the morning, so it's less frizzy, also sleeping on a pillow all night seems to help a little.

damn..how much of that stuff do you have to use....and it'd probably weigh the hair down and just make it look dirty or become stiff and icky

frizz ease works like magic.
kim. have you tried that?
the thing that sucks about frizz ease is
that you have to use it on dripping wet hair
and then blow dry, which takes forever.
but when you do. it looks like you
got it straight ironed and it's thick and silky.

i don't care about frizzy hair anymore.
i love ponytail holders.

We're going to Target tonight, so I will buy some Frizz Ease. I will try it tomorrow after my shower and post results.

Always seemed to me that most Asian women had nice straight hair with no frizzies. I will now be scoping out all Asian chicks to see if this generality has some basis.

Can I put in a request? That you try it sans blow-drying too, like put it on half-dry hair and let it naturally dry. My hair gets like an afro if its within 10 feet of any blowdryer. It's trained me to stay clear.

I think having frizzy hair is kinda a hapa thing. Some asians, but mainly hapas, are cursed.

most of the Asian people in the greater DC area - unless they're fobs - are fucking yuppies. so most likely the Asian girls will have spent 2+ hours on their hair before stepping foot out the door, which means you probably won't see many frizzy-haired Asian girls.

my hair is naturally wavy at the ends if i naturally air dry it. i've just left it like that on my "i don't give a fuck what you think" hair days. =) it's liberating. i guess frizzies don't equal to waves, but it can certainly look frizzy.

Always seemed to me that most Asian women had nice straight hair with no frizzies. I guess that's the case in general, though my thinking is that DC humidity does not discriminate based on ethnicity.

My hair's a little wavy, so I get an afro in humidity. A Korean friend of mine, who was recently in DC for business, also has naturally wavy hair and ended up looking like a soul sista every day of her trip.

My guess is that those with very straight hair aren't going to get blowout-comb-type volume, but they're still going to frizz up a bit...

Showered, used the Frizz Ease on soaking wet hair, and blew it dry. Outcome: soft hair, still some frizz, but that could be because the humidity was lower today. Nice enough results, but I wish the frizzies were totally gone. I still have a small halo of frizzes.

hey...curly frizzy hair can be nice too you know muthfukkers (heehee i am in full blown black panther mode today so dont mess!)....but seriously though you guys are reminding me of this pantene advert where the (White) girl is like 'oh my god how will i ever be sucessfull or pretty with a few bends in my hair'...and im thinking bitch please some of us got to spend about an hour with the blow drier before our hair starts getting straight ok....'frizzies' puhleeese....

*aisha takes panther teeshirt off*....on the other hand...olive oil in your hair over noght, followed by thorough rinse in morn is good as is frizz ease 'wind down' (the shit!!)....also try aveda anti moisture.....that shit is wicked but expenisve ...your choice!!

Kneel before me, for I have created the ultimate anti-frizz mixture for home de-frizzing.

Quarter size amount of Frizzease, dime size amount of Aveda Hang Straight and Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. Mix ingredients together in your palm, and smush it in your wet hair. Blow dry (sorry, coagulated fat). THEN, use your flat iron. Finish with Pure Shine spray on laminate by Hask.

Er, only good if you want frizzless straight hair, since obviously the flat iron will straighten your hair. I bet one could use a fat curling iron to get frizzless curls using this mixture.

So much effort. I say just shave it and wear whatever wig/hair piece tickles your fancy on a given day.

It's called the "Magic Straight Perm" amongst the koreans and truly works. Costs about $200 in LA at Korean hair salons, which is cheaper than any other place I know of -- Japanese or otherwise -- and totally worth it if you think about all the time you save blowdrying your hair (you literally just shower and go and your hair looks great) and the money you save on styling products.

Run, don't walk, to a Korean hair salon today.

OH, and it lasts for a year.

I thought that Japanese straightening thing last forever, unless you grow it out. You just need touchups for the new growth.

Many people have warned against getting it on TV. You need a very specific hair type for it to work and if you get it done by some who doesn't know what they are doing or doesn't test your hair to see if it's the right type, I hope you know how to pick a good wig.

i think the hair stylists claim the "magic"-treated parts last for only a year, although in my case, it seems to be a little more than that. and yeah, you'd have to get the "new" hair touched up as it grows in.

also, you're right about only getting it from reputable stylists. i got one from a newbie and my hair was jaaaaaacked!

Last thing -- Korean hairstylists usually also recommend getting a "gloss" WITH the magic straight perm. it seals in the cuticle, makes your hair glossy (duh), and you can even get one with color pigments. Cost: an extra 40 bucks, usually.

it's oh so fun...

Kinda. But, nope.

In a way, but it's stronger and not recommended for most Blacks.

I'm canerowed, too!

Here they say cornrows. I only hear West Indians and West Indian-Americans saying saying canerow.

it would work on her hair. but i doubt she's willing to sit there for 4 to 6 hours and then at the end paying a couple hundred bucks for it.
