Filipino restaurants

There are only a handful of Filipino restaurants that I know of in the Bay Area.

One's this place called Goldylocks (in the 99 Ranch mall in Richmond).

But from what Filipino friends tell me, the best Filipino food is best served -- in Filipino households.

Is that true?

Well, I don't I've really heard that about Chinese or Japanese food.

Most of the time the comment has been about Filipino restaurants in the Bay Area -- maybe because there is a lack there of.

If you do go to Goldilock's, you have to get their mocha roll... it's really really really good... I could eat a whole one in one sitting.. yum..

i think the Goldilocks restaurants are okay, but kinda overrated. you should check out some others. i've only been to a handful of local filipino restaurants in SF (like Kadok's on Mission Street) but i'm betting that the city to go to is Daly City - Little Manila. :) don't laugh, but Classic Bowl (yes a bowling alley) in DC has a fairly decent selection of filipino food. the lumpia shanghai and pancit malabon are my faves.

I think the idea that the best Filipino food is cooked in a Filipino household considered the fact that Daly City has a few Filipino restaurants.

Definitely true. My best friend's mom is the best cook that comes to mind, er...but I'm not sure exactly if it beats out everything I've tasted in my lifetime.

Depending on what's being served at home, homecooked is not always best. :frown:

Well, if the homecook thing is just some old-wives' tale, would love to know of some good Filipino restaurants in the area.

I dunno, a lot of Filipinos sell food to each other. I'd say, yes, the best food in sold in households. :wink:
