Apparently Steven Spielberg is to executive produce the live-action Transformers film. Should be interesting. I wonder who's going to direct. I can't wait! I hope they don't fuck it up.

The original animated Transformers movie had Spike's kid, Daniel, in it. I suppose he and his antics were kind of annoying. But I guess in a live action film, such a character would be even more annoying. We'll see.

Putting Daniel in so much danger made absolutely no sense, even to my 9 year-old eyes. He was really there so kids would have someone to identify with (although that role was already occupied by Hot Rod). Without knowing what the story is, we may not see that again. Hasbro made a good choice with Dreamwave, and I hope they're thinking as much of the fans as they are the money with this project. Trying to establish a franchise could be a good or bad thing.

Joseph Kahn was supposed to be the frontrunner, but after Spielbergo's involvement, they may have a more pricey person in mind.
