Some theories say that birth order affects your personality. I can say that my sister and I fit the stereotypes. I'm the older responsible one and she's the younger chaotic one.

Yeah I think me and my younger brother fit the stereotype.
Supposedly I heard that there are matches for birth order to determine compatibility like oldest child is well matched with the youngest child of another family etc etc.
Bleh been hanging around that weirdo astrology friend of mine too much. She's like the chinese Darma of Darma and Greg.

Same as me, HH. My big sister is the older, more responsible one. I'm the party kid who loves to be irresponsible.
Is it true what they say, though? The younger one is smarter? In our case, I think it is. Not saying that to talk shit on my sister, she's hella smart, too. But we got pretty much the same grades for the most part in high school... only she worked her ass off and I blew off my classes. Oh and yeah, we went to the same high school and had a lot of the same teachers.

Same. Big sister responsible, me reckless and irresponsible, yet smarter and wiser. At least that's what she keeps saying. I mean, I'm a dumbass kid that's 12 years younger, but she comes to me for advice, opinions, and answers. I just go to her to laugh at her.

Me. Numero uno son. Wacky balance between responsibility and crisis management and chaos causer.
Middle bro. Typical middle child syndrome compounded by hapa adjustment issues.
Youngest bro. Like oldest bro, but a bit more of a dreamer and less-practical ideas. Good thing his girlfriend keeps him on track.

For reals... Hahaha! Just kidding. Just 'cause you're silly and playful doesn't mean you aren't responsible. (you are)
I buy into the whole birth order thing. My older brother's probably the most independent. My little brother, always getting his way as a kid, is only just now learning to take on young-adult responsibilities (he just turned 23).
What I want to know is where did this misconception about the middle child being the most poorly adjusted come from (Brady Bunch?)? If anything, we ought to be the most well adjusted. We don't endure the trial and errors that the first born does. And we aren't the spoiled little babies... Bah!
But as Bun-boy said, since birth order can affect your compatibility with others in relationships, at least middle children can go either way (youngest child or oldest child). Tight.

I'm the oldest child who has paved a way for my little 11 yr old brother. But b/c we have such a huge age gap, it's like having two oldest children. He does look up to me as a serogate mother but also as a friend. No sibling rivalry between us.

I dunno about misconcenptions, but there's been plently of psych research studies on family dynamics in regards to birth order.

My sister treats me like a daughter, but she denies it all the time. She disciplines me, she lectures me, ect.

i've got a half sister whose got 15 years on me. do you think that plays any role into this birth order-personality theory you speak of?
i've got a brother 3 years younger than me. the only way he's smarter than me is cus he doesn't talk back to the parents, and i do. school wise, i'm on top. took algebra I in 7th grade. he's taking it now, in 9th.
