Anyone else catch this on Saturday? They got like the whole freakin' roster on here now in order to make up for Hawkgirl's traitorous actions, but it's cool to see some classic ones on the show.

Dr. Fate pwnz.
and Zatanna... fishnet... geez, hot.
I didn't catch it as it slipped my mind. I was interested in seeing if Green Arrow would bring some relevant social issues, and/or team up with Green Lantern somehow. As it is aimed at adults (it seems), I think it's a great vehicle for serious issues, and Green Arrow is the historic character to do so. Do they address this at all?

Yeah, Green Arrow is still pretty much in that social arena. When he meets Captain Atom, he asked him what powered his body and he was like, "nuclear power", and GA remarks, "I think you're what I marched against in college."

You know I gots to keep it updated. Pretty good ep. last night, based off of Alan Moore's "The Man Who Has Everything" story featuring Superman's b-day and Wonder Woman and Batman coming to the cave of solitude to celebrate. Seems someone puts a plant on Supes called the black mercy which causes the host to hallucinate about the life they could've had....very intense episode.
Argh. I need a Tivo. Off to bittorrent.

This was on last night?!?!? I was so looking forward to this episode. When are the JLU eps rerun? Have they switched to the widescreen format yet? I heard Timm say they were for this season. Did Kara appear? If so, was she shown to be older or the same age as in STAS? :frown:

STAS = Superman: The Animated Series. They didn't really do too much continuity with Kara, she still looks the same.

Can't wait to see Kara in action once more. I really thought the way her origin was done on STAS was one of the best post-Crisis revisions. Little Girl Lost has to be one of my favourite eps. *Sigh*

Great episode. Green Lantern's line about Superman having 50 different methods of vision was hilarious. I <3 BitTorrent. There's no way I can wake up that early on a Saturday.
Great episode this week. Bringing a mostly obscure character with an acclaimed miniseries in the 80's to the screen made my day. The Question, done not in the old Charlton style but the O'Neil/Cowan way, was great. Also the fact that I kept thinking "Rorscach" the whole time.
Supergirl... I donno what version of Supergirl this is, and with the revelation of her clone, makes it seem like it's at least part of the clone story post-Crisis. The JLU series has been focusing a lot on Supergirl and with this story, does make the writers responsible for cleaning up the storyarc. It would be cool to see Braniac. =D
Green Arrow is awesome. I'm glad they're bringing him to life for another generation of audience.
Last week's was kinda goofy but likable. The week before that was kinda... bleh. Lots of laughs, more than usual, and a good host of characters... but Hawk & Dove? They had a pretty good history... but... have always disappeared. Were they really worth putting in an episode?

hahahaa at hawk&dove. that makes me cringe, but in a good way, that they did those two. it was fun, and stupid, but great to see them get some screen time.
question was awewsome, and i'm really digging the JLU green arrow. the JLU supergirl is kara, the cousin of superman.
http://www.start.no/underholdning/2003/11/11-7044-1.jpeg
not to be confused with the linda danvers/supergirl incarnation who is actually from another dimension and... it's complicated. no, this supergirl, cousin of kal-el, sent in a second spaceship to take care of him but arrived waaaay late and ended up on earth younger than him.
oh, and the clone thing? that's new to the whole thing. it was power girl, but power girl's origin story has nothing to do with supergirl, so this is creative license hard at work.

wow you know your superheroes..
as for me, I dont think ill be watching JLU because:
1) I don't have cable television
2) My firewall caps my BT at about o...1kbps.
Thanks for the explanations, kitty. Powergirl... geez... fanboy material.
Greatest Story Never Told... well, its weird to see Booster Gold without Blue Beetle but I'll take it. Kind of a waste to let Mordru be the backdrop but for this story to make sense it had to be one of those top villains that would be on par with an end-of-the-universe black hole. BG growing a bit more mature in one episode is kind of a lot but I'm glad he got a whole episode. The Green Lantern thing got old real quick. Seeing all the other characters was great. Hadn't seen the Huntress since the late 80's in my Batman books. More comedy than serious like half of the episodes have been.
Wonder what character they'll do next.

never been a huge booster gold fan, but i'm liking how they're sorta paying homage to all the characters. calling him green lantern was so silly -- it was almost over the top. good episode, and again i'm happy to see booster gold in JLU form (as i was to see a reoccurence of hawk&dove, and seeing elastic man for the first time in JLU). huntress needs her own episode, i think -- she's been iin the background a bunch of times now.

It seems they've been paying a lot of homage to Steve Ditko's characters. Too bad Elongated Man was played as sort of a more foolish Plastic Man (who wasn't shown). It's actually the other way around -- EM is a better detective and as far as I know, can't transform into a vase but merely stretch.
So far, a lot of emphasis on the Charlton characters -- The Question, Captain Atom. Really wish Blue Beetle was in the past episode but it would have gotten in the way of developing BG. It would be pretty cool if they got all the old Charlton characters together for some kind of Watchmen spoof.

Looks like I am weeks late. I caught the Green Arrow "Initiation" today while at the gym. I thought it was OK - I was a little annoyed that the bad guys were "Evil Asians" (North Koreans) that tried to make a robot to "keep the foreigners out" with a heaping helping of Asian stoicism. At least they didn't have heavy accents... But what can you do - I'll try to make it to the gym at 6 on sundays from now on :D

yeah, elastic man is a more serious plas. plas is supposed to be mad goofy, elastic man and his wife were the detectives on JLA before bats joined -- he can only stretch, no shape-shifting for elastic man. his nose twitches when he smells a mystery. he's so silver age.
omg. they are over the top now. time-travel multi-parter, great excuse to bring in lots of obscure characters. but awesome.
Seriously, do you know how cool it is to integrate Bat Lash into JLU? A character whose comic book series lasted 7 issues in the 60's?
Nice of them to subtitle it Weird Western Tales, same title of the comic book in which Jonah Hex solidified his place in comics. In that sense, it's more a tribute to Joe Orlando's groundbreaking work than Hex's creators or the 90's revival. Best quote:Hex: Fancy gun belts you got there. I'm thinking you folks are time travellers.
Batman: Where would you get a crazy idea like that?
Hex: Experience. I've had an interesting life.(If it's any indication of how his life story is, the way it ends is with his body being taxidermied and showcased)
Sheriff Ohiyesa Smith, on being called "Pow-Wow Smith," the nickname he had in the 1940's comics, now saying he didn't like the name and didn't want to hear it again -- how cool is that?
Can't wait for the next episode.

and it's just wrong what happened to poor terry.

Is it just me or did it just get nerdy in here?
Is it just me or did it just get nerdy in here?Nah, nerdy is when we start arguing whether Batman is Chaotic or Neutral Good and if the Batarang is piercing, slashing, bludgeoning, or all three types of damage. Comic fanboy/fangirl geekdom is a separate domain altogether. =D

I still find it hard to believe that Terry can take down dozens of criminals in one sitting, yet had a problem with four Dee Dee clones with energy whips. Granted, Chronos gave them the power to multiply, but that suit should've been able to withstand that.

Last night's ep. wasn't as intense except in a few parts, but I enjoyed the long awaited intro of Black Canary. Green Arrow vs. Wildcat in a UFC style match was craziness.
