I'm not trying to be sexist or nothing here, but.............................doesn't it seem kinda odd to see so many female cops. Especially a squad car w/ two female cops.
I mean.................police are supposed to be like bodyguards, right? If somebody thinks about committing a crime and s/he sees a cop, the cop's supposed to look intimidating enough to make them think twice about it, right? If I saw a female cop, I'd probably just laugh cause hell I know I could take her on, as opposed to a male cop with big ass biceps.
Like I said, I'm not trying to be sexist or nothing.....................it's just kinda weird for me to see female cops.

^She still has a gun, though, and is most likely more inclined to use it. Be skurd.

To be honest though, there are some skinny ass whitebread milquetoast looking male cops I think I could easily disable if they didn't have those extra weapons and the ability to call backup, so the ladies pose just as much of a threat, intimidation wise...you remind me of Ron Burgundy, Hiroshi..;)

how is that not sexist? your statement itself makes me want to laugh out loud. it's perhaps one of the most blatantly sexist statements i have heard. and it's rather naive to believe that you can take on any female cop.
and no, cops are not our society's bodyguards. they simply enforce the law. they don't even have to prevent crimes from taking place. they just have to apprehend the criminals and conduct investigations.
no offense, hiroshi, but that post just doesn't sound like you. were you in the right mind when you posted?

take it up with a squad car with two female cops. make sure to laugh at them and tell them you can take them on. come back and tell us how it went.

Are you, in general, more likely to encounter any cop one-on-one in some confrontational situation, in the first place?
I thought they generally called for backup before entering any situation.
If you watch the cop shows, there are at least two of them. And they usually try to subdue people with more than one cop -- even female suspects.
Hiroshi, your opinion seems to assume that cops necessarily require larger physical size. There are other skills that can be valuable.
In any event, one of the strongest guys I ever met was a tiny Thai kickboxer.

I don't know if I was in my right state of mind. I remember the other day I saw COPS and there were these two female cops coming to settle a domestic dispute and I was like wtf? If it's some big 250-lb dude up there beating up his wife couldn't he just toss those women? It didn't seem like a good idea.
I swear I'm not sexist, just a thought that crossed my mind.
Guess I might as well go ahead and say that female construction workers doesn't sound like the brightest idea either. Though I have nothing against women doing just about anything else, sports (as long as they're not competing against males), CEOs, nothing else. Just seems like they're a couple of jobs out there that really require, well................muscle. Like being a cop and construction work.
Now on the same token, I've laughed at skinny, old-ass male cops they send up to my school to keep the peace. I don't think I'm really a sexist person though.

I don't know what they teach the police officers when they have to "handle" people, but I have recognized some pretty simplistic aikido and point manipulation techniques they use to bring down suspects. And for the record, those types of techniques don't really require alot of muscle to use in the first place.
....Not to mention the mace and the taser guns.
Hiroshi, I think you're confusing cops and gladiators. Cops are law enforcement officials, their job is not physical intimidation of citizens (people who do that are called thugs). The only job I see women as incapable of performing is sperm donation. I think we should enact a law to ban women sperm donors, if such a law does not already exist on the books.

but isn't it wrong for you to generalize those two female cops you say on COPS to the entire population of female cops?

i disagree. i think part of a cop's value is in crime deterence. crime is usually lower around a police station. if there was no deterence, then that wouldn't happen. physical intimidation is one method of deterence. think of club bouncers. their mere presence deters some potential fights from breaking out. that said, i think the great equalizer is the gun cops carry around. hell, a gun makes a 6 year old kid a possible killer, to say nothing of a trained officer. so hiroshi should still refrain from beating up female officers if he's looking for a reason.

A little proof that a female officer can do the job:
Shooting of Suspect Justified, According to Prosecutor (http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0704/159609.html)
Yorkshire (AP) - Prince William Count (website - news) y Commonwealth's Attorney Paul Ebert says this month's shooting of a domestic dispute suspect by a female police officer was justified.
Paul Delane Johnson was wounded in the leg in the shooting, back on July 7th.
According to the Northern Virginia Journal, Johnson's uncle called police during a fight.
Johnson allegedly fought with the female officer and another male officer, continuing to struggle even after being doused with pepper spray and struck with metal batons.
The female officer reportedly shot Johnson after the male officer said he was too injured to keep fighting, and she feared she could not restrain Johnson on her own.
Johnson is charged with wounding an officer, resisting arrest, and assault and battery.

Massachusetts Officer Kills Knife-Wielding Man (http://www.officer.com/article/article.jsp?id=14173&siteSection=1)
FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) -- A police officer shot and killed a man who was advancing towards her brandishing a knife early Wednesday morning, the Norfolk district attorney said.
Thomas K. Shea, 45, of Walpole, died around 1 a.m. following a domestic disturbance at the home of his ex-wife, District Attorney William Keating said.
Keating said Shea threatened the female officer, who was not immediately named, with a knife that was 10 or 12 inches long. The officer warned him and backed away to the end of the driveway and then retreated across the street before shooting him when he advanced within 10 to 12 feet of her.
Keating said reports from several witnesses and preliminary forensic evidence indicated the officer had no choice but to fire her gun.
"We have conducted the investigation independently and we have consistent reports from several witnesses that the warnings were issued. We have trace evidence at the scene indicating what happened," he said. "Everything is consistent with a shooting in which the officer had no recourse but to discharge that weapon."
The officer is undergoing stress counseling, Keating said.

One female officer feels the same on-the-job stress as her male counterparts:

Hah. I think Hiroshi should go up to a pair of female cops and say what he wrote in that post. In this case, experience would be the best teacher. That and I would find the aftermath quite amusing.

take it one step further, go up to a couple of female cops, say how you feel about female cops, maybe they'll whip out their NBG sticks and beat ya like how they beat rodney or maybe they'll take you back to the station and abner louima ya.
then find yourself a good attorney, sue the police department and you'll never have to work a day in your life.

but STILL a guy.
Anyhow. I don't care what they say about women cops being ninnies. They are the ABSOLUTE WORST KIND OF COPS to be pulled over or whatnot. They not only have a chip on their shoulder cuz they're cops, but moreso because they're women. I could go on and on. This is not to say that all female cops are suffering from inferiority complexes.
But from my experience, ALLLLL the female cops I have encountered are bitches with the biggest chips on their shoulders. From white female, large white female, small white female, large hispanic female, small black female, small asian female... you name it, I prolly encountered it.
In any event, female cops are the WORST.

i dont feel less safe around with female cops. i think how safe i feel depends on how physically fit the cop appears to me. i know, i know, physical appearances and my judgment shouldnt be mixed, especially on this matter since i could be entirely wrong.
i think that some guys living with the whole "im a man, therefore i am macho" train of thought might feel threatened by the presence of female cops. i was reading a few cases where some punk guys intentionally pushed their luck with female cops or tried to exert their "manly dominance" over them because they thought females were in no position to be law enforcers. i have to say that i shook my head with pity for the offenders when finished.
