Do abortions hurt?
My friend who had one a while ago told me it hurts afterwards. I didn't ask for the info... she told me. Not sure about during. Not about to ask.

Do abortions hurt?
if not physically, i would imagine that it would hurt emotionally....

it probably won't hurt nearly as much as having the child itself. if she is afraid of pain, she can always ask for general, rather than local. local is painful, i have been told. everyone i knew recovered within a day.

i heard it doesn't hurt during, but afterwards you feel like you wan to throw up and sometimes you do, you also get like cramps 10x as worst for a long time... ;)

From personal experience? No. They put you to sleep. But they do all kinds of stuff before you actually HAVE the abortion which do not... feel... good. The emotional backlash is way worse than I imagined it would be... and standing up off the hospital bed and watching a trickle of blood run down my leg will be a sight that will haunt me forever.

My aunt had an abortion, but it was b/c of a medical emergency. I'm not very clear about the details. She never talks about it. So, i don't know if it's painful or not (although i would imagine that it's emotionally devastating).

>> abortions seem like very scary things...ive heard about them read about them and have had friends who've gone through with the procedure. i cant imagine how id feel emotionally if i ever had to go through with one. =P
>> my friend had been on "the shot" for a while and she went in after 3 months to get another one...but she ended up getting pregnant anyway because they had given her the WRONG shot...damn planned parenthood. scary eh?

How did they know they gave her the wrong shot? Did they call her later to let her know or anything?
I mean, those shots aren't 100% effective, though, right?

>> i think theyre about as effective as a birth control pill...they admitted to have giving her the wrong shot. are abortions from planned parenthood usually free? because she didnt have to pay for hers.

they're free if you're under 18 or if you're over but cannot confide in your parents about the abortion.

not from planned parenthood. they're cheap there, though. it was going to cost me 200 to get one from them. but all this shit happened and i had to go to FPA... for close to 1200 bucks. owch.
and the only thing thats free is birth control and physicals. everything else is on a sliding scale... i was 15-16, they didnt give a shit if i told my parents. its a law... there's a confidentiality thing in california.
