I really need braces and I can't afford them right now. *sigh*

I hear that. I inherited the worst of my parents' genes. Got the bad teeth, and also have to wear corrective lenses. That's why I pay for the high-end dental and vision insurance. It pays for a good portion of my braces and glasses/contact lenses, but won't pay for Lasik, dammit!

I use Colgate Complete on my electric toothbrush developed by Braun. My teeth are okay, but I would like to have braces on my bottom teeth. My bottom teeth NEVER show when I smile (mainly b/c my mouth doesn't open that wide when I do). I'm a very minor case though because people who look at my bottom teeth when I show them don't really think I need to get braces.... ;)

ick!! I had braces when i was like in 5th grade or so.... my teeth were kinda crooked cuz i have a small mouth.... and all my teeth kinda got like all crowded together..So, not only did i have to get braces, but i had to get some teeth pulled out to make room and everything...

Had braces for 2 yrs in HS and again during my first year of medschool... Let me just say if you get your braces off, wear your retainer and save yourself the money you wouldve spent on a re-treatment.

Also soda really does rot your teeth...
For the last 12 visits to the dentist there would always seem to be a new cavity. My mouth is so full of fillings I set off the metal detector at the airport (j/k). Luckily no root canal yet.

Also some advice for those who need to get their wisdom teeth extracted:
--Get them all done together if you can
--Make sure to brush the gums carefully where the teeth are growing in
--Use LOTS and LOTS of ice and ibuprofen (or some other NSAID).
--Listen to the oral surgeon and pack gauze so you don't get a 'dry socket'
--General anesthesia is great for wussies like me

I had four teeth out and kept the swelling down with ice and motrin. Was able to eat breakfast the next morning.

I love going to the dentist. Does that make me a freak?

I had braces for four years from the 10th grade 'til I was a sophmore in college. Braces suck, but straight teeth are kinda cool...I guess.

My orthodontist had four of my pre-molars (?) removed so that he had room to move my teeth around when I had braces. Thus, I haven't had to, nor will I have to (I hope) experience the displeasure of having my wisdom teeth removed.

My toothpaste of choice is Colgate Total Fresh Stripe. Nothing like a little bit of triclosan (anti-bacterial agent used in soaps) to give you the false impression that your mouth is germ and odor free.=)

And my ex-girlfriend got me a Sonicare toothbrush for my last birthday. WTF kind of gift is that?! Practical, yes. Personal? I think socks would be more personal.

I'm in the same boat as you are. I love it when they clean my teeth and make them look and feel spic and span. :D

I had my wisdom teeth removed about a year and a half ago. All four impacted teeth at one time, and take a little advice from HH here, do 2 at a time.

But now they want to remove more! They say my mouth isn't big enough for all my teeth and my bottom teeth are still crowded. They already took 4 - how many more do they want?

I had all four wisdom teeth removed at once. The doctor was the best damn doctor. Nitrous... does a body good.

I was wondering the very same thing...what if they eventually have to take my wisdoms? That'd be 1/4th of all of my teeth gone! That's a grip of teeth.
