I was just reminded of this a while ago. For some reason, my Filipino friend likes white chicks. However, he's insanely obsessed with hapa chicks. Specifically, viet - french mix. He drools all over this like a dog and it's funny to me because I don't really care.

Do you have friends like this particular friend of mine? It kind of annoys me, but whatever. To each their own right?

ok, i have communicated with mrazntre and i think this thread should go back to the Men's forum.

this thread was started as a question posed to men about their possible hapa fetish. it was specifically addressed to men and it doesn't as much have to do with hapas as men's fetish for hapas.

That's true (to an extent) but that's not why I have a fetish (OK, I was exageratting when I said I had a fetish) or why I've often find myself attracting to biracial girls. A lot of them really do look good.



But yes, it can be good to have a friend who can understand where you're coming from when it comes to being mixed. Because it's hard to find somebody (besides your siblings) who really understand, and the constant questions (many of which are stupid) get annoying quick.

I think it began whenever someone decided that if you mix something with Asian you make it hotter. Figure out how that came about, and you have the source of hapa-fetish ;).

On thing I think that makes hapa fetish different from asian fetish is w/ hapa's there's no set culture... so you don't ever really get any of these "i wanna be hapa" guys (like you know how there are those "i wanna be asian and i'm all into asian culture" white guys?)... hapa fetish is almost totally centered around physical looks.... with the exception of maybe when it comes from other hapas.

Also, i think hapa fetish is different in Asia than in the U.S... in the states, I think hapa fetish's roots are pretty in sync w/ Asian fetish... it's just a twist on the same thing.... however in Asia, i think hapa fetish's roots prolly have a link to white imperialism in the East- being part white can be somewhat of a status symbol in some Asian countries... even today.

yeah they look different. but i guess i've seen enough of different kinds of people to the point that i don't really think anybody looked "exotic" anymore. exotic to me is if i go to the Amazon and there are naked chicks running around with face paint on. if anything, white Americans would probably be considered more "exotic" than Europeans because of the mix-breeding of different European ethnicities.
