View Full Version : blue-eyed Asians

I know there are some Han Chinese people with green eyes (like my cousins) and a tiny, tiny percentage with blue eyes, though it's not very common in the U.S. since most of the Chinese people here are from southern China, where virtually everybody has brown eyes. I recently met a Chinese girl with blue eyes. We already had the whole ethnicity discussion, like Asian chicks are wont to bring up.
I'm tempted to ask her whether she wears colored contacts. This is sort of a rude question, because (a) if she isn't I'd be weird for wondering (b) if she is, the answer to my question would be "of course I am, you stupid dipshit."
This girl is HOT. But I'm a little weirded out by her eyecolor, since all of her other features are of the very ordinary "Mongolian" Chinese variety.

had blue eyes? Everyone in my family has brown eyes, except for my late grandfather (grey) and my cousins (green). You can rest assured that our grandfathers were most definitely NOT wearing contacts.

i say bring her home and have her stay over. while you're making breakfast in the morning, watch to see if she pops any coloured contacts back in her eyes.

I've seen a couple of black people w/ blue eyes (not contacts, not even light-skinned) so I don't see why it wouldn't be completely out of the question that her eyes would be naturally blue.

Whatever, you know they bought those contacts from the strip mall.
But yeah, I have seen a few with light green eyes before...very recessive genes, apparantly.

Maybe...............*shrugs*
There was this one boy on my basketball team in middle school................he was dark-skinned, short, bo-legged and had blue eyes (that were contacts, though you got to wonder why the hell would he WANT blue contacts, they don't look natural). Needless to say, it was fun to crack on him.

Black people or Chinese people?

Western China??? Venturing a guess since I'm not familiar with that name.

Heilongjiang is in NORTHEAST, on the Heilong (Amur) and Wussuri rivers. I doubt there are many blondes there, except for the ethnic Russians. Some Han Chinese and many Turks in Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi and other parts of the west have brown hair, though, but I didn't see any really blond blondes in Xinjiang. They might exist, but are probably quite uncommon. Some of the people I met in the west look quite Caucasian, especially the ethnic minorities, but they mostly have dark hair and brown eyes like most of the people in other parts of China.

i'm not very sure about the history of our familys ancestry.
my mother has green eyes yet none of her siblings or parents have them. i think it sort of 'skips' a generation and it's possible that one of her grandparents had them or cousins from the paternal/maternal side of the family.
I saw several people in China with green eyes, and I've seen blue-eyed Chinese persons with albinism.
The pharmacist near here is of Asian descent and I noticed his eyes appear dark green. One day when I was waiting at the store, a woman kept staring at him and she finally said, "Pardon me, but are you ..." He said, "Yes, yes, I'm wearing colored contacts." So he must get that question a lot.

Green seems more common than blue, for sure. I've never seen true blue eyes in a Chinese person in real life. Also, there are a lot of Chinese with hazel eyes, which is technically a shade of brown, rather than real green.
Don't know about Thai people, though I suspect they have an even slighter proportion of non-brown-eyed people than China.

Hey, you guys want a vaguely half-or-a-quarter-Chinese-looking-when-bald Black front man who can play a smokin' xylophone?

Can you play a xylophone if it is not smoking?
Btw, the amazing Patrick Moore (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/toons/20/) plays the xylophone, and if a cult figure such as he can't get himself into a band you don't have much of a chance. Unless smoking xylophones are harder to play than normal ones :D

The second girl's eyes are freakishly large.
"I think of it as a metaphor for the move from traditional Thailand to a more Western or modernized or global culture," said William J. Klausner, an American who teaches political science at Chulalongkorn University. "We are in a transition between these two societies, moving from traditional to modern. Well, the halfway house is the luk kreung" — a Thai phrase meaning "half-children."
Anyone else sick of dumbass carpetbaggers assuming "Western" is the same as "modernized" is the same as "global culture," and putting all the weight on hapas as the bearers of it?

Asian+blue eyes=hybrid
I once saw an albino-looking boy with asiatic facial features in the campus cafeteria. He was with a Chinese-looking woman who might be his mom or relative. This boy was chubby, had very pink skin, white or very very light blond hair (not dyed), a round moon face, chinese-shaped eyes, (don’t remember the color of the eyes—but they were definitely light—light green I think), small nose with low nasal bridge. Never seen anyone that looked like him. Very unique.
