ok, my cousin is bitchin' n moanin' about how hot it is in my place, and then he proceeds to plug in an old-ass fans I had lying around that was gonna ged chucked later on.

i try to remove the plug from the socket later on that nite only to find out it wasnt budging. I must've thrown my entire weight into and wrapped the cord around my forearm and everything. the shit wouldn't come out.

soooo.... i'm open to suggestions for next courses of actions and maybe some explanations as to what happened....

hahahahahhaahhahaha!!!!

turn it off, first. the prongs probably got bent and are wedged in there, essentially locking it in. Do you see any shifting at all when you pull on it? Don't pull on it too much or you could just rip out the cord and make things worse...

you could maybe call a person to fix it -- 'cuz you REALLY don't want to electrocute yourself. Otherwise, maybe you could consider unscrewing the socket and taking it out? I don't know how that would help you, tho...

Turn off the breaker. Then you can throw all caution to the wind.

Like the previous two posts mentioned, I'd turn off the breaker (and remove the fuse if possible) for that outlet. Unscrew the face plate. Use brute force to rip that sucker out. If the socket box assembly is damaged you can buy a new one pretty cheaply (and if you don't already have 3 prongs with the breaker here's a good opportunity to upgrade). It's fairly easy to replace -- most modern assemblies will just have you screw down on the wires.

Always double-check that the breaker is off by running a device off of it before touching it (learned that the hard way).
