romance

Janet is somewhat of the inspiration for this one. The rest of us are crude :D

I've always seen the candlelight dinners and whatnot on TV. Never been into the romantic dinner at home, but Mr. HH and I buy cards for one another quite often and hold hands over dinner sometimes. I even get poems from him.

How do you guys keep romance alive in this day and age?

I heard from someone that romance is something that has been implanted in our heads through society and the media. We see it in TV, movies, media, society, etc.EVERYWHERE everyday.

Is it a load of BS? DO relationships, especially women need to be "romanced" or else they will look for it else where? Why is it that peoples perception of romance is so deeply rooted in our culture?

For me when i was with my ex, we would cook dinner or suprised each other with little gift. For me it not how much the thing was, more of the thought that goes behind it! :)

at ocean beach in s.f. this summer, my friend encountered a florist setting up long-stemmed roses in a shape of a heart on the beach. inside the heart was a table nicely set and with candles, etc. it turned out that a man was going to bring his gf there that night for dinner on the beach. he had arranged for a plane to fly by during dinner with banner saying, "will you marry me?" :)
