Also a small site that I believe was devoted to Africans, or Nigerians more specifically. I forget the name, but it had some good issues. The older threads had discussions with a good mix of African (primarily Nigerian-American), African-American, and Afro-West Indian-American perspectives from people of different generations. Newer threads were dull and so I eventually drifted away.

There are others, but that was so long ago that I forget them now. Mostly as a lurker or a once and a blue moon poster.

I'm motivated by good discussion.

I can see that. But if you're not only talking about culturally-themed sites, then there's a whole lot of stuff that YW doesn't really deal with. For example, I spend a lot of time on the ba.food Usenet group, which is pan-racial/ethnic/gender/age. The uniting theme is enthusiasm for food in the Bay Area -- all types.

I don't post much, but I also spend a lot of time reading the DPReview.com and Photo.net boards. Everyone there has photography in common and that seems to transcend ethnicity, gender, and geographic locale.

I go where my interests are, regardless of ethnicity. They pretty much revolve around Asian-centric, the graphic arts and creative writing.

Currently I only circle around 4 to 5 sites that center around those, YW included. For me, this is more than enough for the further growth of my mind, body and soul...

Like Banana, I don't have time to bother with going to an "ethnic-dominant" site just to hear the continual bashing of other races to stroke their egos because they don't have balls to say it to people's faces in real life...

I visit this board because, in my experience, it's one of the few where you can talk about heated issues of race, identity, international relations without the whole thing going up in flames. The moderators actually moderate, which is nice.

On CV, a few people of all races see me as the irritating Asian crusader who won't shut up.

I spend most of my time on LiveJournal because I'm a dweeb. Then comes YW and my school boards.

I lurk like a shadow in the dark night of darkness shadowlike on a few programming boards and ask questions when there's something to learn.

There are one or two community-oriented (lots of regulars, broad scope of topics) forums that are not Asian-centric that I stop in and out of. They tend to be kind of stupid in comparison to YW and the Brown Forum, since there's a different age demographic and education demographic.

I reserve MM solely for when I'm pissy and feel like fighting with Asian militants I don't know.

it's the only active vancouver forum i've found and it's not even that good except for some of the booty and boob shots and party pics. Lack of intelligent convo but fun and up to date on local events and new music.

I try to locate afrocentric forums, though a lot of them end up being of the shallow BlackPlanet persuasion, though a few have some decent discussions. When it comes to movies/video game forums, the majority are obviously white and male, and I do let it be known that I am black, if someone asks or if the profile is checked. I come here because of the moderation, and ya'll have us all on a tight watch so nobody can act like morons unless it's just in their nature...;)
