Baja Buggy or Rally car

I've wanted to do the Baja 500 ever since I was a little girl. How much money would it take to get into a basic Baja buggy?

build a sand rail... you can use a tube chassis... throw in a porsche 911 TT and you're set !


i heard it costs around 5-10k to get your feet wet.. you can buy one premade and tweak it. it would probably be more easier that way. Unless you're that confident of your welding capabilities, which i am not.

as with all hobby's, you can always throw money at something to get it going fast. However one of the other things that you need to do is get a 4x4 and a trailer to get you onto the dunes.

rally car hello hapa u can build that on cheap

1. buy a AWD car like a subaru imprezza WRX or evolutionimports Lancer EVO 7.
2. Time to rip out its suspension for independant/ remote resoviour shocks from penske or prodrive (WRX only), and contact large spring manufactuers eibach, kg/mm, tein for a very high height but high spring rates springs.
3. Roll cage time: full roll cage needed.
4. remove ur window for safety (if required)and install external kill switch for u fuel system, box/ relocate ur battery in a approved housing/box.
5. Get a FIA approved nomex suit and snell 99 helmet.
6. train HH husband to be navigator and read maps $$
7. goto rally racing school in england or i think theres one in maine
8. Find Sponsors to lessen the wallet injury
9. Buy lotsa sets of tires, u'll need street, dirt, mud, snow, etc. and more then one set of each.
10.learn to pee on urself and be ok w/ it since u cant really stop and take a wizz.
11. buy dust filters for ur air intake system and maybe a water/ Nitrous spray system for ur intercooler (jdm factory optional water spray rocks)
12. buy sum pain killers and alcohol to lessen the pain of impact.

Would you ever do a rally? Yeah, pissing would be a problem for me since I'm not big on squatting out in the open. I had this issue come up when I would motocross or do an enduro.

I think I have the nards to do it though. But my sister would be the navigator. She's handy with engines and even reconditioned a crapped out old Harley.

yah i'd love to do rally racing.

well mostly rally drivers just urinate on themselves while driving. FUN!
