I will answer as many questions as I can about any topic, from a young black man's perspective! I will be leaving work soon, so their may be a slight delay on some questions until I get home. This will be a serious thread with a little humor thrown in here and there.

This doesn't have that much to do with being black, since I'm too tired and disoriented to think of the real questions I want to ask, but I know that you do capoeira and I was wondering if you could tell me a little about it. I just found out that my university gym courses actually offer it once a week and my friends and we're thinking about signing up next year.

Do you have to be in amazing shape to learn? How long does it take to get anywhere close to competent? How have you benefitted from doing it? Most importantly, does it get you ass?

How can I best convey to black men that cat call me on the street that I'm not interested with the minimum of communication and still not look like a big racist bitch? It seems like whenever I turn around to tell them to fuck off they respond with, "Whatever, you just don't like black men," when the truth is I just don't like rude, uncouth, fugly, dirty ghetto men of all colors.

Capoeira is a beautiful martial art which many view as a dance. Developed by african slaves while in Brazil, this art was disguised as a dance. Having it's roots from africa, it was later incorporated and further evolved with Brazillian culture! Capoeira is known for it's very powerful kicks and evasive movement. Lifting weights to have good upper body strength is good, and running to increase stamina helps! Click on my home page to learn more! It takes around 3 to 6 months to become confident in the art. I benefit from capoeira by learning brazillian and african culture, learning portuguese, and learning how to dance! And you know what women think about guys who can dance don't you? If they can move good on the floor, they can move good in the bed! At least from what I've over heard!

Actually, I find it really offensive and annoying, and as they say, silence is acceptance. I refuse to let jerks get away with harassing me so I need a good put down that will leave them speechless and without their tired old "I'm a victim of racism because this woman doesn't want to suck my dick like I asked her to" bullshit. So no, I'm not going to be bowing my head and moving on. White guys who try that shit with me get the same "Fuck off, you ugly piece of shit" treatment, too.

LOL at next side step please! The problem is, it sounds like you are having trouble with a group of ignorant people. My first suggestion was to ignore confrontation with ignorant people who already have a pre-determained mindset anyway. No matter what you say, their is no swaying their ignorance.

Or as you say, you refuse to bow in silence or something to that effect, you are looking for a more, direct method of attacking the problem, perhaps fighting fire with fire which can spring fourth violence. Are these a specific group of people who continue to harass you or are you speaking in general? In actuality, their is no one way to answer this question due to so many deciding factors. But just know, their are some people who can be talked to, and some people who are just plain ignorant.

After I got kicked out of my mom's house, Pizza, Chinese food, and microwavable goodies is the only reason I'm alive! I'm too lazy to cook. When I wanna eat, I wanna EAT! I use to drop by my ex house all the time and leave with a plate of black eye peas, neck bones, and mixed vegtables all the time.
