Hi -

A long time has passed since I last posted. I wouldn't have come back, but I thought maybe you could help me do a better job of something (at a long shot)...

I'm a member of a University society that runs a small TV station (http://www.lstv.co.uk/), and they're going to transmit a programme at the start of next year to promote the Union's various societies and such. I've got the job of filming the Japanese Society on Tuesday.

There's probably not much leeway in how I can do this, but I might as well ask you - any advice, thoughts or general brainfarts on how I can make the best of it?

Thanks all

btw - I've just got an email with more info, the piece will be ~4 minutes long and I'll be filming an interview or two. Any ideas for questions? (I have a few but I'm sure some of you will have beter ones :) )

Well, we don't really know anything about your school's Japanese society and what kinds of things they do. You'd be better off asking one of the members or officers.

That's the point though - I want questions from people who don't know anything about the society or what they do, because neither do the audience ;)

The idea of this topic is to get an idea of what a Japanese (edit: or Japanese-British) student might want to know before signing up to this thing called the "Japanese society"

You might want to rethink asking yw that because I know they/we don't take kindly to people coming here to get "the Asian opinion" or the "Japanese opinion" and stuff like that.

I thought you'd actually be happy that someone cared.

What the hell would we know about what a Japanese student wants to know when most of us are American, ass.

Sorry, I meant Japanese or Japanese-British.

Im sure if you ask a hundred different japanese or japanese americans what they thought about it you would get a hundred different answers.

What I suggest is to interview people who joined the program in the past and why they joined.
