At Saint Louis U, I'm the fundraising chair this year for the Asian Student Coalition. I want to change that title soo bad because not everyone is Asian in this group. Anyway, little did I know as many as 80 people are interested in joining, which means I play a BIG factor in finding ways to pay for our activities this entire year. We've already raised a sum of money during the summer volunteering during some of the Cardinal's games, and the next thing is a Dating Auction. Have you ever hosted a dating auction? I thought about having the entire group wash cars for free but accept donations as well. Any ideas about fundraising?

throw a pizza party at a pizza parlor where the students have to buy their own pizza. ask the parlor to give you a small percentage of their earnings for every person that buys from your organization.

1. Fireworks booth on the 4th of July (9/11?)-- thousands of dollars depending on location
2. Auctions -- people or items; advertising is key
3. Rummage/garage sales -- order of hundreds of dollars
4. Trips to game show or talk show tapings -- less money but easier to get people to go
5. Bake sales / Candy sales
6. Parties with a cover
7. Get sponsers -- try having a bone marrow typing drive (targeting Asians specifically) and get some corporation to sponser the program... hmm, I guess that works more for charitable causes where they can write-off the donation

Great ideas with the pizza parlour (or any restaurant for that matter) and the volunteering.
