Boba Milk Tea
Cloudy marbles of tapioca
settling at the bottom
of the partially conical cylinder--
a slightly translucent container
filled with an
addicting
sweet
milky substance,
enclosed by a tubular plastic--
a piece of film draped by a demure
Japanese cartoon character
and a random zodiac sign.
I ALWAYS get Sagittarius.
The character always becomes
beheaded by my over-sized straw,
which is used to extract each
chewy sphere into another portal.
My straw was light purple this time.
Every boba becomes an object
of a remote operation.
I must get all of them!
And before I could absorb the taste,
the liquid had already dissipated.
