ah so are 2 of mine the NSX and the GTR the joys of having friends at motorex and a steady paying professional job!
the Z is totally plausable arent used Z's like 19-23k like 94-96 models. I remember them not being to expensive and them not being that quick after seeing them being suprised by when drove an FD3S and my current SR powered car and definitely having sum trouble keeping up.
Z is bad ass tho for cruising next to supra its a total cruise and chill car.

skylines have maintained basically the same look for years and still look pretty fresh. why hasn't nissan designed a car like that in america? it's not until recently that nissans actually look good.
as for me, i'm not really into cars. i see them more as a mode of transportation, while also having negative contributions to our environment & society. i have a 2002 honda civic 4dr and am perfectly happy with that. i'd upgrade to the hybrid civic if possible.

very simple terrence.
Nissan motor cars usa isnt a subisidary of nissan motorcars japan...instead think of it as a large wholesale broker of nissan japans cars. Also another reason is that the nissan japan staff and leadership is made up of a large amount of EX-prince motor cars staff (company nissan aquired in 60's where the skyline and silvia orginated from), while the nissan north america is composed of EX-Datsun staff shipped over to the united states. People like the father of the Z car run nissan north america...but mechanically the skyline is most related to the 240sx/ silvia platform they share alot of basic suspension designs and the silvia can use the skylines larger brakes and alluminum (versus cast iron) suspension components (rear uprights) and also use the motor off a skyline w/ a mild modification (use the skyline cross member and GTS skyline 2wd transmission).

I dunno tho. If you're a guy, you gotta have a certain style to be able to pull off the Mini-Cooper *IMO*. Otherwise it's one of those car's aimed to mid 20's women I think. If you got your lower east apt, those black thick rimmed glasses, and hang out in spots like Art Bar or Pravda or whatever, then I guess you can pull it off. I just don't envision too many mid 20's azn men pimpin the Mini-cooper, they're all too busy adding exhausts and system heads to their black civics.

Staying in topic, practical dream car that I may be able to afford one day would be an Audi RS6.
Dream car that I prolly will never have definitely is the Aston Martin DB9. The starter button for Aston Martin’s new DB9 is made of crystal glass, etched with the Aston logo, that glows red when the ignition is on and ice blue when the engine is running. The button, like the car, is very, very cool.
The DB9 is so cool that the automatic version uses magnesium alloy for the gear shift paddles. When you're talkin 100k+ cars, the little touches and internal stylings mean more to me then just pure performance #'s.

Same with me, but I'd also throw the Mercedes AMG E55 into the mix if I'm willing to give up AWD. In three years or so, I'm curious as to what resale prices will be on the RS6. A lot of folks on the AudiWorld forums are picking up RS6's and...wow, they're nice.
Right now, I'm still enamored with my A6 4.2L. There's nothing else I'd rather have, unless you jump to the $75K and over range.

Ayrton Senna de Silva is arguably the greatest racer on Earth. Behind the wheels of Honda-powered cars from McLaren, he etched his name upon the annals of time as the greatest driver ever lived--to this day no one can rival his driving skills in the rain. No one.
Senna's rise to glory greatly aided Honda's domination of Formula One with Constructor's Championship from 1986-1991 and Driver's Championship in 1987 (Piquet), 1988 (Senna), 1989 (Prost), 1990 (Senna), and 1991 (Senna)
Honda, then the dominant manufacturer of Formula One, wanted to design a car that would embody the ultimate racing ideals. Senna became the car's advisor, advising each step of the car's development efforts. He came to love it, and owned two of them.
In 1994, Senna died in a tragic crash at the Tumburello Curve of the Imola track. He was 30 years old. Though at that time he has stopped driving for Honda, Honda's "Golden Era" also came to an abrupt end, and its once-dominating glory faded giving way to Michael Schumacher and his Ferraris.
But the car that Senna helped designed still lived on.
That car is the Honda NSX.
Now you know why the NSX was so expensive for a Honda. Its engine is a technological marvel, its chassis racing-competent, and its suspension finely-honed for the best of the best. But that's not why the car is famous.
The NSX is famous because it not only embodies the epitome of Honda engineering, it also embodies the legacy of the greatest driver on Earth. In the NSX, one is reminded not only of Honda's once-total domination of the greatest sports, but also of the driver whose skills are still unmatched to this very day.

He was amazing, I read his biography and the people who worked with him would say he would go out, do a lap, then go over the lap, saying that he could gain 0.06 sec at this turn and gain some extra time here because he could have entered the turn faster, etc. Then he would go out and do exactly what he said he would do.
I heard that he could drift at a 45 degree angle relative to the path of the car on a track in a totally stock NSX. The next NSX will suck ass.

Tough call between Silver 1954 Mercedes 300SL coupe "Gullwing" or a 1972 Porsche 911s in Hunter Green. I think I would go for the Merc because it is more rare and the line flows much sexier. But then again a British Racing Green 1967 Jaguar E Type coupe also shares that sexiness. If that's the case I have to add a Silver 1964 Astin Martin DB5 coupe to the list. I would not be fair not to mention a red 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT. With sheer grunt and racing glory, the 1967 Ford GT40 Mk 111 should not be dismissed. Where was I? Right, GT 40. Let's add some modern cars to the list, who can leave out the Ferrari F40? Still one of the fastest road car ever after 15 years without all the electronic intrusions. Then again MacLaren F1 is the all time fastest production car, still. Further rambling, rambling and more rambling...
Then I have to talk about vintage bikes...
Endless self-indulgence and fantasies ensues...
Damn this thread!

Realistically: MINI Cooper S Works. I will get me one of these little buggers within the next year or so. I've always wanted one ever since it was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2001. Fuck everyone who says it is a chick car, because it has lots of performance tuning potential.
Yet, I really, really want Alfa Romeo to come back to America. Damn straight I'd be first in line to order a new 159 sedan or GT sports coupe, just not forget to purchase the extended warranty with it.

Although I'm no car frantic, I do have a 'dream car'
... Mazda RX8... inspired by the X-Men 2 movie:biggrin: looks cool... blue one
... Nissan Skyline GTR... dark white (haha ya oxymoron) with TWO blue stripes down the middle like a Dodge Viper:rolleyes: ... that'd be cool.
Nissan Skyline GTS' in my opinion are not cool... the back and front... so ugly

Hm I'm pretty happy with what i have...
only thing I think I'd want is the new GT-R coming out.
I'd like to turn my 6th Gen accord v6 coupe into the prototype AC-R honda used to have running 300whp NA on a modified J30A1. or just completely swap in a frankensteined engine
J32A4 head on a J35 block. 6-speed from the CL Type S and a big brake kit would be nice.
I'd also like my G35 coupe supercharged to 378whp with a roots SC
that doesn't make me have to get a ugly hood like the stillen.
Valve Body and Torque Converter upgrade.
I'd also like my VQ35 rebuilt.. reinforced sleeves. Nismo Cams
ECU with different performance profiles.
Carbon Fiber drive shaft and torsen LSD
and a set of 6 piston brembos while I'm at it.
on a set of michelin pilot sport 2's wrapped around
Racing Hart M5s.

The dreamcar must be the SAAB 9000 2.3 Turbo!!
This is a car that most people miss among the Porsche 911 Carrera and Ferrari F40 (It is a family saloon!!) But from about 80Km/h to 140 Km/h ( ca 50 mp/h to 90 mp/h) it will outrun theese two supercars. The engine has a torque curve like a diesel and stamina as the petrol engine (it stops at 8000 rpm). In the US it is sold in the same class as Mercedes Benz and BMW. It lies in the class over Volvo 740 (this is NOT a small car). I have driven this car many times as my father has got one. The grip is amazing even on winter. I live in the north-east Norway and is aware of what a real winter is... We always get a good laugh when we see "snowstorms" in USA.... By the way: It is a frontwheeldrive... Real fun i combination with the handbrake

c'mon man, you can dream a little better than that. owning an Evo MR isn't really a dream, you can actually do it. let's keep the dreaming to supercars like the exotics: Bugatti Veyron, McLaren F1, Saleen S7, Carrera GT, etc
i'm pretty simple myself too, but my price tag would be in the 6-figure category. a fresh 911 Turbo would do nicely for me.

The Veyron is a overpriced car that doesn't deserve the word supercar IMHO. Yes, it makes 1000+ hp with the fancy quad turbo setup .. blah blah blah. So does homegrown rocket powered *insert contraption here*. Bottom line .. it looks like ass and handles worse.
The Mac F1 on the other hand. I would love to have in my stable one day, but suffer from the same problem the Veyron does. Bad handling. Dangerous car.
The S7 and the Carrera GT gets two thumbs up each although both falls short of the Pagini Zonda F.

I m a Porsche owner too, so don't take it the wrong way but the current 911 offering is crap. They need to make a super version of the mid engine boxster and stop spoon feeding rear engine drive to the richie rich masses. Oh wait .. they did that with the carrera gt =]
Realistically for most people .. as close to super car performance as they will get is with the Ariel Atom. $40-60g for 0-60 in 2.6 seconds UNMODDED .. and they have the honda k20 so we all know how modable it is .. if they will only make a AWD mid engine version ...

Arguably is the keyword. Silva might have been good, but does he have 7 formular 1 championship belts? I m sure a couple of those races have been in the rain too. "greatest racer on Earth" is quite a big shoe to fill and I think Silva, as good as he is .. lacks.
Its funny to me actually that you buy into this marketing gimmick. Do you know how many 'race' cars try to pin a super star driver's name to their brochure? Its a marketing gimmick 99% of the time. How much of the 'race' car technologies actually leak down to the nsx? Aluminum body? How about a CF chassis? Dry sump? 12k+ rpm engine? Sequential shifter? Carbon brakes? Aerodynamics?
Honda's "once total" domination of the racing world. Har har. Even if the NSX was once a supercar .. that title is long gone along with Honda's domination of the racing world.

the Leno wallet, I think, is basically what the spirit of this thread is - don't shoot me - because we're basically just pushing off car status, something i'm not usually that adept. I'd get every Italian made car possible.
as for the atom, it's kinda go cart status so i'm not sure you could really compare it with anything else out there.
i'd throw in for a Lotus Elise/Exige (4.7/3.9s 0-60 but it has doors and roof skin!!) or Panoz (anything).
