So last night we roll into Fridays to grab some eats and drinks. i ordered my usual JD steak and a rum and coke. She asks me for my ID?!?!? I got denied because I left my license and wallet back in my apartment. I show her my medical ID, which says surgical resident. No go. So really craving some sort of alcohol in me, we had to go back uptown to my apartment and get my wallet. Grrrrrrrrr.

Quality drinking time wasted.

This is not the first time I got carded. I mean I got carded less when I was under 21!

Ok then would you say that Asian people look younger than their actual age. Is their truth to that sterotype?

Bah MK!

Edit: Actually we had a doogie howser well close. 18 year old that started med school the same year I did. But youngest I heard was a 16 year old.

Or maybe they just age better than other ethnicities.

Werd. You'll be happier with looking young when you're like, in your 40s and people think you're in your 20s. *Grin*

Sometimes, I show people my ID and they STILL don't believe me.

Yup, I've had to do that. Nobody gets my age right, usually they're about five or six years off.

A few years ago, this 15-year-old girl asked me to go to a concert with her. Man, if only I was as perverted as I make myself out to be...

But you are...and more!

The last time I got carded was a few months ago, actually, buying cigarettes. I was flattered at first and kinda laughed and said, "Thanks!" but then when the Korean cashier looked at my driver's license, she yelled, "27!!! You OLD!" I felt like a loser for the rest of the day.

Yah I got carded for buying smokes too.

And again I had to show them my credit card(citbank card with my pic), medical ID and social security card along with drivers license just to get a nicotine fix.

It's flattering at first, but nowadays it's just a pain.

Hahaha. That's funny, but not so nice. I get mistaken for being older rather than being younger. When I tell people I meet that I'm just getting into high school, they act all surprised and say that I look like I'm getting out of high school. What's up with that? I don't think I look so much older.

Yes, I believe asians as a whole age REALLY well, as compared to others. There was this asian lady in my bookstore who worked with us, and for a whole week I thought she was 27, 28... turns out she was 42!!

And I look really young for my age. If I shave, and dress in just jeans and a t-shirt, most ppl think I'm 15 or something. Sucks right now, cuz I'm friggin' 21!!! Oh well, that's ok, cuz when I'm 50 or something I'll look 20 years younger. Hopefully. *fingers crossed*

I used to get so offended. Now, I like to see their reactions. Esp. since some of these young people who card me are WAY YOUNGER than me. Then I get annoyed when they don't ask me for ID. *L*

hehehe...forgot how old i was back then (i'm sure i was at least 18) but I got carded for Saving Private Ryan 6 o'clock showing. the cashier (whom i think was probably younger than me) actually thought my id was fake!!

getting carded is a hassle, but it still cracks me up. Although it really wasn't funny at all when I went Christmas shopping and the cashier carded me because she thought I was too young to have a credit card

i rarely ever got carded... before i turned 21, my friend and i went to fridays..and we were looking at the drinks menu... the waiter would have served me... hehe

i've been mistaken as younger and older than my age... ppl thought i was alumni when i went to a alumni/student conference sophmore yr in HS. or Thought i was in college I got asked what my major was a whole lot...

i do get carded when I'm in group, tho.

I don't get carded, I live in Japan, the country that has a law forbidding girls younger than 14 from being prostitutes.

Last time I got carded for my age was when I tried to buy beer at the MCI center last year. The lady selling the beer sid I looked like I was 16 and I was so flattered.

-sighs- I got carded on my birthday for booze. -ducks away from FIreblade, Chris, and Karizma-

I got carded for every possible thing.....for being "out of school", for buying cigs, alcohol, movies (I got carded for PG 13 before!!), for using my check card at Albertson's......the blinking thing had my pic on it. ...........

grrrr   :pissed:

I got carded the other day buying smokes, I was more pumped then pissed.

This reminds me of the other night, I was chillin with this Thai girl I'd met not too long ago, and we'd decided to go out to dinner. Over the course of dinner she asked me how old I was, so I told her, I just turned 29 (sob, I'm old :( )

She looks at me in shock and goes, '29?!? you don't look that old! You're older then I thought!' So I'm thinking, shit how old is she? Please don't tell me she's like 19. So I ask her, 'well how old are you?'

"I'm a quite a bit younger then you! " Oh crap, I really hope I'm not breaking any laws here.. Then she goes I'm 25. "25!?!" Here I was thinking she's underage and she's 25. Whew. It really is hard guessing the age of asians, I'm asian too, and I'm still bad at it.

Incidentally, she speaks not a word of English, so I had to rap entirely in Thai. Let me tell you, it's definately not easy to be smooth when you've constantly got a blank look on your face, trying to figure out what the hell she's babbling about.

i agree that asians age better than other races. my mom was carded when she bought a bottle of wine or something for some family event. she's about 38.

i'm always mistaken for a freshman in hs or something. people tell me i look like i'm 13 or 14. i'm 17. i think its rather flattering if you're a female around 30+ being carded.

hmmm, i just turned 18, but i've been 21 since i was like 15. i always have ppl vouch for me though so it usually works out alright. ye, my moms looks way young for her age, ppl don't believe she's over 30 much less going on 40 in a year.
