There's no benefit or harm in drinking 8 glasses of wawa a day. Just drink when you're thirsty.
Edit: I mean no harm in drinking 8+ cups a day

I live in the desert, if you wait until you're thirsty to start drinking you're already in trouble. I drink extra to stay ahead.

Good point buoywonder. Before I kill anyone from dehydration, I forgot to add that if you have to adjust to your environment (like drink more water in hot weather or before rigorous exercise).
It's funny I just read an article about the obligatory 8 glasses of water. Hehe noone knows the origin of why 8 glasses.

I don't. I try to drink 3 of those bottles every day, but it's usually just one.

more than 8 glasses in a day is fine
23 glasses in an hour that will kill you. I remember a few years back some guy was rolling, and he kept drinking water, 23 poland spring bottles in under an hour and he died of a brain aneurism

Aneurysm popping probably came from rolling -> hypertensive hemorrhage, etc. Probably not the 23 bottles of water. Unless your kidneys have failed for one reason or another, they do an excellent job of maintaining the fluid levels in your body. 23/hour is excessive, but probably won't kill any of us.
As far as where the 8 glasses came from and whether it's really needed?

It's an article about the urban legend of 8 glasses/day.

I support what Ayers said. Might've been from the rolling that caused a hemorrhage, unless he had kidney problems that lead to kidney failures, and couldn't keep up with that amount of water he was taking in. Your kidneys keeps everything in check and maintains homeostasis if you have excessive water or lack of water.
Heh good article Ayers. I have heard of water intoxication but never seen it clinically LOL.

I know you can kill yourself with water... Not quite sure how much you have to drink to do that...
...Apparently if you inject water into your veins you die...

Yeah you can kill yourself by drinking water. But it has to be a shitload of water and resulting in renal failure. But not sure on the threshold, I would assume it has to be alot as in massive huge ass quanities.
Nah you won't die if you inject a syringe full of water, again you have to be injecting a shitload. Unless it's an embolism caused by free air or a water bubble in the syringe during injection, but it's rare.
