If it's well-organized, and the DJ's are good, and the crowd is well-behaved, raves aren't that bad. It's too bad when kiddies are OD'ing, and have to be carted away by EMT's or cops. Anyways, I guess you have to like the music. With that being said, at the bigger events, you can find different rooms (or tents) with different kinds of music, like trance, house, gabber, drum & bass, and hip-hop, just to name a few.
If you can make it to an event in Europe, those IMO are better.

For anyone in the NYC, Boo 7 in October might be worth checking out. It will be outdoors and during the daytime, for anyone who is not so nocturnal. :) Info at http://www.stuckonearth.com
If you can make it out to Long Island, they also have a Labor Day weekend event.

Speaking of outdoors, is anyone planning to go to the Winter Music Conference in Miami in March?
