Does good in the ratings with "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance"
Ratings for Monday night (http://tv.zap2it.com/tveditorial/tve_main/1,1002,272_617%7C85823%7C1%7C,00.html)
Probably on the strength of American Idol.
Thanks to the premiere of "American Idol," FOX scored a huge ratings win for the night, averaging a 14.0 rating/20 share. CBS, 8.3/12, beat NBC, 7.1/11, for second place. ABC was fourth at 4.6/7, followed by The WB, 3.7/5, and UPN, 1.8/3.
...
FOX let the "Idol" premiere go a few minutes long, leading into the debut of "My Big, Fat Obnoxious Fiance" at 9 p.m. The show held a decent amount of the "AI" audience, finishing at 12.4/18.

I wanna see how this would do with the roles reversed, and a female version of the big fat obnoxious fiance, and the dude is like a pretty boy. Would he stay on or drop the whole thing?

I'm surprised that the Obnoxious Fiance lady stuck with it.
I mean there was some real mental torture in her mind.
I also am wondering if it would have been a better gag if the audience didn't know the fiance was an actor.

Yeah. It would have been interesting to see how judgemental the viewers got.
I bet the producers thought about that, then decided it would drag-in more viewers if they let them in on the joke.

Final episode is next Monday, where the wedding will take place.
'My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance' star Randi Coy quits schoolteacher job (http://www.realitytvworld.com/index/articles/story.php?s=2194)
Looking to ensure her availability for whatever future "experiences" might await reality television's latest soon-to-be has-been reality show contestant, Randi Coy, the 23-year-old woman at the center of FOX's My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance reality prank show, has quit her two month career as a first grade Catholic schoolteacher.
`Obnoxious Fiance' a big fat career boost for actor (http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/news/celebrity/mmx-0402030266feb03,0,6843147.story?coll=mmx-celebrity_heds)
...
For Bailey, a classically trained actor from Seattle, the show looks to be a ticket out of the obscurity of bit parts -- his resume lists the TV roles of "cave demon" in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "phone guy" in "Becker" -- and work in commercials. He is the man who gets blown off his locker-room bench by a hair dryer in the current Hungry-Man frozen-dinner spot.
...
With only two episodes under their belts, fans have embraced Bailey more openly than Coy.
"This show is the funniest thing I've seen since `Animal House,"' one Internet fan called Dist2manxxs wrote in a reality TV chat room this week.
"She's a stuck-up, 99 cent Barbie. He's great!" wrote another, named Chopzoe.
"Anybody who has the opportunity to sign Steve to a TV deal and doesn't needs a head examination," added a chatter called Mrscience3.
In real life, Bailey, 32, is a married man who studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater's Advanced Training Program in San Francisco. He's done everything from Shakespeare to dish-soap commercials in a long struggle to break through.
"It's difficult," he said in a telephone interview Wednesday, "but I've been blessed that I've been able to at least work on a consistent scale."
Still, he added, his acting jobs have been small and temporary.
Until now.
The role of "Steve," the obnoxious fiance, has catapulted him into the public consciousness, where he said he'd like to stay.
"I've actually been recognized on the street like crazy lately," he said. "People have been nice, saying I'm funny. One guy said he hadn't laughed so hard since `Seinfeld's' first season."
Nobody will divulge how the big, fat faux wedding show turns out. But Bailey said he was pleased with the boost the goofy gig had given his career.
If nothing else, his days of playing cave monsters in glowing-eye masks seem to be behind him.
"I've been contacted by some other people," he said. "And I hope to have some meetings that might lead to other work."

The title must be a real boost to that actor’s self-esteem.
I’ve seen some episodes.
The fact that most people just upon looking at the guy say that he isn’t her type speaks volumes about her.
Neither the lady nor her family look all that themselves (Well, the daddy is cute for an old man, butt-chin and all, but that’s really besides the point…).
It sad that just be looking at him, they’d come to that judgment.

Ha! It's not like we couldn't figure out the ending.
We were just talking about it around here: What reality TV show has ever gone that far without giving away the doe?
It wouldn't play any other way.

Alright, saw the ending.
All I have to say is: $500,000 does not seem like enough, considering what the family went through. Randi and her family deserved a million a piece.

Actually, when they were saying their I-Do's, Randi said I-Do, but Steve was the one that did not.
But he had everyone pissed off.
The producers did actually get everyone to return, he appologized profusely for the whole thing, and Steve then presented the checks.
