Tomb Raider Lacking Life

So, a movie about a busty British girl scouring the globe for ancient trinkets from long-dead exotic civilizations—no big surprise that it would be racially insensitive, I guess. [details (http://yellowworld.org/?m=show&id=139)]

They've got to get a better male lead to work with someone like Angelina Jolie. I shouldn't be asking myself "why is she interested in him?" the whole movie (and not in that "I'd be so much better for her," way).

Oh yeah, they also have to make them more exciting. I haven't seen a movie that packed in so much as far as locales and gunplay yet still deliver so little. Jan De Bont should be shot. The editing and cinematography was lackluster. The dialogue lacked any plot importance and there wasn't even anything resembling a climactic scene.

Maybe I should start making movies.

there was no plot. it was all about watching Angelina Jolie run around beating people up.

2 things i found funny.

1) Lara Croft needs to find a man that really knows this particular Chinese syndicate. so naturally she goes and gets a... British guy...

2) after they left Beijing, they filmed a scene where she called her headquarters. i recognised that scene from a place in HK, so i thought they were in HK already. but the next scene shows that they had arrived in Shanghai. i was like "what the..." and then started laughing. i think i was the only one who "got it" in the whole theater. it's like when they filmed Spy Games in HK and they called the HSBC Building the "US Embassy". i happened to have watched that in the theater in HK and the whole theater cracked up laughing.

anyway, this movie is just action... and yeah, the action wasn't that great either... err... well it's nice to watch Angelina Jolie kick ass, at least. just don't expect anything meaningful coming out of this movie and you'll be fine.

I think the point of this movie is not to watch a great plot, or action, or acting,


but more excuses to get some popcorn!

I borrowed the first tomb raider DVD from a friend, it was so bad that 10 minutes into it, i had to turn it off.

It was bad. I don't know why I saw it. Hey, at least I saw some Asian faces on the big screen, too bad most of them were being killed by Lara.

WORST MOVIE i have seen this year-in last two years...League of X-gentleman might have been worse though (or was that movie "sean connery's payday?)...

If it was supposed to be, it didn't do well enough for that :) But LXG wasn't bad... it just wasn't great. Definitely didn't need the chanting African shaman at the end though.

I haven't seen this but I think the first one is enough.

Just like Free Willy, the first one was enough but they kept making unnecessary sequels. <_<
