do you have do wear designer names? do you care about what you wear? does it seem to influence how other girls view you?

this is extremely extremely shallow of me but i like designer brands, most especially purses, shoes and accessories...and i can't stand the items that "everyone" else has. i certainly think it influences how other girls view you (positively). i don't mind wearing gap from time to time but i refuse to use cheap purses. stylistically, it's the little things that count?

I have a mix of brand name clothes one would buy from the mall, and I have some clothes I would buy at an ordinary department store like Target, Walmart, or whatever. It just depends if it looks good on me. Designer clothes are nice because they can be unique, but I think it's ridiculous to sell clothes THAT expensive. This is how the gap between the rich and the poor widen..... and an example of where classism begins. A friend of mine bought a $900 designer purse. Does that make her classier than me because I have a Limited wallet purse? I sure don't see a difference other than a sewn label. Heck you can sew a label and sell it for thousands and many people wouldn't know the difference unless they're avid designer consumers. To me, it's just unethical. Sure, people can put a price tag on anything that they own, but it's really sad that the "elite" are the people who can afford that stuff and the "commoners" have to settle for what they can get. I usually buy clothes that are on sale or I'll have someone who works at a store to buy the clothes for me using their employee discount. =) That may seem unethical, but stores jack up the price of clothes and people still buy them. I'd rather buy it for the truer cost of the brand.

Brand doesn't concern me that much. It all depends on the price and whether it looks good on me or not. Sometimes I even make my own clothes. It's pretty fun and unique.

I buy a mixture of non-brand sale items, knock offs and the real thing.

for shoes and clothes, i buy designer just because the quality is usually better. they will last longer--and therefore will cost just as much as buying a lot of cheaper clothes that fall apart--in the long run at least. i'm all for good deals, but clothes i buy from local stores (i live in the ghetto, heh) fall apart during the first wash.
as for purses, i like designer and non-designer--there are just a lot of cute purses out there. the more the better
as for lingerie, i used to shop primarily victoria's secrets--but now i'm finding that maidenform fits me better...
*****
with all that being said, though--i don't buy from lines like french connection, etc., unless their stuff is on sale. i think their regular prices are just ridiculous.

if it looks good, i'll buy it. i wont buy something ugly just because it has a designer label... but i DO have my favorite brands, of course. :)

i dont care, really. there are a few brands that i tend to gravitate to, but other than that i just pick and choose whatever strikes my fancy.

I shop at La Senza and Jacob Lingerie for my lingerie. I walked into La Vie de Rose (Is that what it's called?) once and it was scary. You can't walk in without getting smacked in the face by a pair of crotchless panties. Speaking of those, who wears or likes them? I think they're pretty dumb. Good for quickies, but dumb.

I don’t have to wear designer wear and I don’t like to wear clothes that have the brand name plastered across it (Like Gap and Old Navy tend to do).
I’m content with cheap stuff. I think the most expensive I usually go is Express because I love their semi-formalwear. However, that’s not really expensive when you factor in sales, coupons, and a card. It’s actually pretty cheap a lot of the times when you factor all that stuff in.
On the rare occasion that I do wear clothes with the name plastered, I may get comments like, “Oh, that’s the new ___?,” or, “Gucci? That’s good.” However, I don’t think I’m judged by the names, usually.
If I look expensive, it influences the way people look at me, but it's not the name really. It's the look.

i prefer boutique fashion. i'm not
really into high street stores. none
of that gap malarky please. i do
like fun t-shirts that i get at little
tiny shops too. and at the weekend
market, but i have to disinfect those
for a day, and it's a hassle.
i care about what i wear,
comfort wise. i'm not about
to stuff myself into a corset
for the hell of it. and if i have
to, i'll go find the most comfortable
one around.
i care more about my underwear
than i do my clothes. i like agent
provacateur stuff. ultra naughty,
ultra comfy.
my friends say i never dress up though.
because i'm always wearing the same
old red t-shirt with the pants i wore while
painting my apartment and nike soccer
slides that are 3 sizes too big for me.
i like shoes though. ooh. i love shoes.
