I'm sure at least one of you has seen the Japanese version. I only mustered up the guts to go to The Morgan Ranch, and almost The Horror of Ringu but as soon as I heard the sound effects, I was like "CLOSE! CLOSE!" Somebody kick me for being a wuss. Anybody who got the guts to look at the sites and the videos, tell about it please.

Hey, I went to the Sega Joypolis Ringu walkthru. It was kinda like a haunted house. Totally made fun of it cuz I was like "Only American horror movies are scary." That was before I walked through it...

And now I have this sepia picture of me screaming like a little girl during the scariest part.

Woah! You've got to be kidding me. Japanese horror movies are 10 times scarier than American movies. I can wet my pants twice watching one.

That Morgan Ranch Site was creepy.
I didn't get why it was cursed. Was it because the little girl watched the video?

The psychiatric evaluation she got was kinda funny. It looked legit till they wrote " brain kinda screwy" on her evaluation. I'm no shrink but I don't think thats the right clinical term or very politically correct.

I'm kinda looking foward to the movie now.

I watched the japanese movie (With english/chinese subtitle!) and basically, in the video the girl was pushed down a well and well, was basically murdered in this fashion. The video kills anyone who watches it (I think) for revenge or something. When a girl finds this video, she doesn't die when she watched it and people find this strange. I'd tell the rest but then I'd give away the movie (assuming the 'american version' is the same).

I was so excited to see The Ring because my friend was raving about the Japanese version. And then once he told me how it was, I'm not so sure anymore. I'm such a chicken.

i am scared shitless. i watched the ring. it was a great movie. i'm surprised by how accurately they made it to the japanese version. the opening scene was the same...and iunno...everything was just so similar but it was based in seattle. i swear...i didn't think it would be scary. i thought the ghost wouldn't even look that bad but i was fucking wrong. i actually jumped out of my seat and yelled "oh sHITTTTTTTTT" at the scariest part. i reccomend that you all watch it.

this is why i don't watch videotapes anymore. good thing theres no TV in my room.

and i'm still about to shit in my pants cause i'm scared. you don't understand...i watched the original japanese version about 2-3 years ago in korea. THAT was traumatizing and scary as fuck. watching the american version multiplied that fear by ten. shit.

ive seen both the american and japanese versions of the movie, in short whichever you see first will definitely scare you, the other one after that will still be creepy..theres also a korean version ring virus, but the reviews on that arent as promising so i decided not to waste my time..

I just saw it last night... and it freaked the shit outta me!!! I'm so totally gullible, and I was like "was it real? am I gonna die? AAAAGGGHH??" I spent the whole movie hiding under my jacket, so call me a wuss.

I SERIOUSLY reccommend the American version. It's freaky, and the acting and special effects are pretty good!! I haven't seen the Japanese version so I don't know about that, but it sounds like the plots are about the same.

american horror sux, but korean and japanese horror is amazing ^_^

good korean horror movie to watch is "nightmare" (dunno the korean title, i have the dvd in korean but i use the subtitles)
