let ebay know immediately and try to track down proof through paypal that money was transferred. it shouldn't be that difficult with paypal, i've just never done it.
ebay will reimburse you and ban the seller if he's really gone MIA.

That totally sucks.
Add negatively to his/her reputation points big time.
Actually, what was the seller's reputation like before your bought from him/her?

It's only been a week. Contact the seller and ask them when they plan on mailing it out. It usually takes me a week to turn around.

yeah they may have other stuff on ebay to keep track of.
but yes, i only buy from people that have great rep points.
in any case, you can work with ebay to get your $ back if it all goes to hell.

This has happened to me, only in the reverse. I sold someone an item a while back, the transaction was completed. Later that week, I get a notice saying they're reversing money from me because I never sent it. I had proof of them receiving the item and everything, tracking numbers, emails, but the other party constantly denied my sending it. They sided with them over me, and not only did they get the item i sold, but got it for free to boot.

Chill, it's only been 1 week. Assume the person receives confirmation of money received on Thursday, give him 2 days to ship (Saturday). Assuming any non-expedited method of shipment (since you didn't mention otherwise) and that leaves you only Monday-Thursday (4 days). The post office can take 3 days for deliverying a letter within in the same city, so unless the guy is shipping from the same state I wouldn't expect the package to be there yet.

that doesn't make sense.... why would they side with them if you have proof they signed for it and stuff...?

They took an extremely long time to get back to me, and I have no idea what the other guy told them. I'm assuming he was just trying to get the thing for free because he was an ass, and after a while I just forgot the whole ordeal because I was getting sick of it.

i called and emailed the seller...no feedback...
i checked out the seller rating...a lot of people gave him a high rating..5 out of 5?..u know..and a lot of them say fast shipping
well..fast shipping my ass...the shipping costs like 50% of the item i bought...the thing is 12 bucks and the shipping is 7...and it's only two light bulbs...shouldn't take that long...i wouldn't be that pissed if i could talk to them...and know the situation...yeah..the item is only $20..not that much of money...but i dont feel comfortable buying stuff from ebay again

I've used paypal with no problem. I've bought items off of eBay without any trouble. One of the few times I sold anything on eBay, some jackass tried to return the item for refund three months after he bought it.
PayPal used to be assurance that the seller was legit, because people would have to leave their personal and financial information registered to a site. However, since PayPal and e-Bay merged, you got so many dishonest sellers with a PayPal account that really don't care about the antiquated e-Bay feedback & rating system.
e-Bay has to seriously reconsider that stupid feedback system. As long as a seller is a high volume seller, their positive rating will rarely ever plummet below 90%. Unfortunately, that 10% may encompasses up to 250 buyers who get crappy or unsatisfactory service.
In terms of getting your money back, just remember that PayPal's buyer protection service program only allows you to claim 2 refunds per year. Therefore, you need to decide if the amount is enough that you want to make a case for.
An exploit allows a seller to create their own reputation, comments, ratings and all. eBay has been notified for a while now but they do nothing about it. The information was posted to (I can't remember) either BugTraq, Full Disclosure, or VulnWatch.

sheeyit, maybe thats how those scammers do it. but that doesnt really expain how some seemingly suspicious people have flawless ratings...
I've often wondered how your Paypal-linked credit card's fraud protection applies to Paypal purchases. Anyone ever inquire with their credit card companies whether they'll allow you to dispute the charge?

This is the original report by ARD in Germany: http://www.tagesschau.de/aktuell/meldungen/0,1185,OID2858696_REF1,00.html
and if you don't understand German, the article says a seller can use Javascript in their profile description to embed false feedback information that is rendered by the user's browser. The current "fix" for this is to disable Javascript, since the script needs to run for the exploit to work. ARD says they contacted eBay who have confirmed the exploit but have not done anything about it yet.
