Any Robotech fans out there? I grew up with this cartoon series and is my all-time favorite (especially the Macross series and the New Generation). I'm not a big fan of the original series these were ripped from (Macross and Mospeada) but a huge fan of the animation. With recent news popping up everywhere with Hollywood snapping up various Asian movies and cult favorites to be remade, anyone hear of any news about Robotech?

And no, I did not jack off to Minmei.

Nothing yet, but they're discussing it. They should do this one first before Neon Genesis Evangelion...storyline is a little more coherent for them work with. Hell, I'd be excited if they did a Battle of the Planets movie(as seen below).

I wouldn't care so much about a live-action movie as I would a full-term animated series to follow the "Sentinels" storyline.

And in terms of the Robotech women...Minmei (http://www.robotech.com/infopedia/characters/viewcharacter.php?id=8) never did much for me. I was absurdly smitten with Lisa Hayes (http://www.robotech.com/infopedia/characters/viewcharacter.php?id=12), then was sweet on Miriya Sterling (http://www.robotech.com/infopedia/characters/viewcharacter.php?id=25), and then totally infatuated with Rook Bartley (http://www.robotech.com/infopedia/characters/viewcharacter.php?id=45).

Yeah, I would be pretty down with that too... although I did get around to seeing the original pilot for the Sentinels.. I thought the animation was much weaker even if the story was cool.

They will never beat the original animation back in the 80s. The only that I'm liking about robotech is the comic done by image really.

The manga version of Macross are a real flop though.....

Ah, memories of my childhood returning back to me. I was raised on Robotech. That, Harlock (Arcadia of My Youth), and Starblazers (Yamato). Good times. :smile:

Yes, sirreee, I have the whole collection on DVD. I used to have the books in Japanese even though I could not read them. Try robotech.com if you want the skinny on anything Robotech.

Yeah, I've seen it a couple times, but not really my favorite. I have one of the unpopular video games based on it.
