I've had this thing for about a month, and I checked everything twice all over the ride. Only last night I went grocery shopping and opened the trunk so I could get all my stuff into it, I proceed to close it, and it pops right back up in my face. I try this 5 more times, and still nothing. I had to get a wire hanger from my car, bend it, and tie the trunk door to the latch so i could drive back home. Obviously it's something wrong with the latch on the trunk since it's not catching the second latch on the bottom, but has this happened to anybody else, and if so what did you do to remedy the situation before taking it to a dealer who's gonna charge me up the ass I know.

There is some adjustment to the latch on the body of the car. A ratchet set is needed.

1) Did you overstuff the trunk (there should be two hinges on either side of the trunk, sometime people bend that when overloading)
2) Did the latch already close for some reason and you have to activate the release mechanism so that the latch resets to neutral position?
3) Is the latch loose?
4) Any broken parts apaprent?

Thanks for the assistance. I had to get the latch replaced. The part that hooks into the bottom area wasn't clicking, so they had to remove it and put a whole new one on from another cavalier in an auto yard.
