being a avid history channel fan I'm just wondering if anyone's gonna watch the special on barbarians. I think they'll show the one on the mongols on the 20th. as you know the Mongols had a huge empire and the sole reason I got a blue birthmark on my ass when i was born.

The birthmarks are called Mongolian Spots, but I think its' origin is a mystery and not related to Mongol reign over the Eurasian continent. These birthmarks are present in high percentage of infants of Asians, East Africans, AmerIndians (Native American, Mayan-descendents). The ancestors of Native Americans crossed the ice bridge from Asia way before the Mongolian tribes decided to unite. I am not sure why it's called Mongolian Spots. My guess is that the medical profession became aware of these birthmarks in mostly Asian infants and used the anthropological racial categorization, Mongoloid. It's doubtful that the vast majority of the human population has Mongol ancestry.
