These catchphrases are used by my boss almost everyday to describe us peons when we aren't doing something to his liking...."you guys need to be more proactive"...."if you can maintain a greater level of synergy, you'd get this project off the ground in no time"....ok, man. Please stop acting like you're some hip new-age office guru and just assign our meaningless tasks, please.

I worked at an office once where they said, "Think outside the box" waaaay too much. Everything was think outside the box.

Personally, I'm a big fan of motivating people to be proactively synergistic. I usually tell my folks to make sure to open as much of their bandwidth as possible to do their due diligence so that we can realize maximum ROI.

Coming from a dotcom, I'm experiencing a total 180 now. My boss told me three days ago to slow down. Fortunately, I've never worked at a corporation that seriously tossed that shit around. How do you hold in the laughter?

Working at an insane pace for 20+hours a day is something that I never miss about the dotcom period. all that is for my dream of my company IPO that never came.

I gag nowadays when someone says motivational crap at the office. Not a good career move, but oh well.

"Synergy" is a chic-term in the workplace now? I find that particularly amusing...

It's a trend like any other trend, I guess. It's just annoying to have people use words and phrases they don't really understand, or that I don't understand.
