I used to do it by college, since i went to school in Boston.. almost everyone i knew was from local college so i broke it down to BU/Tufts/Harvard/MIT/Wellesley...
but now that i'm working and people have graduated... i'm switched to their location NY/Boston/DC/CA etc...
I've also thought about organizing it by level of friendship... but i think there's too much thinking involved...
the other idea i had was organize by interest... Golf buddies/snowboarding buddies/ work buddies/ hang out buddies / etc etc.
how do you do it?
i do it by where i originally met them...ie high school or college...i guess when we get a job and stuff it'll be by location too

time of day works for me; different people show up at different times of day so i can minimize everything else to save space

Wow. I guess it's a semi-generational thing. It doesn't matter how my list is organized because, any which way, at most there'll be something like six people I know online at any given time. And that's counting recent addition of YW people. Before, it would've been three or four people, max.

I don't understand why your away message says "I'm away right now." I mean obviously you cared enough about it to change from the standard "I am away from my computer right now." If you're going to change it, why didn't you change it to something more jazzy?
I just had to get that off of my chest.

Sorry. That's actually the default. I use Trillian and it seems that I can't change the Away message from that default. If I could, I would.
And you can't gripe at me as you're perpetually Away when you are, in fact, There.

Guilty as charged. I am only occasionally truly Away. The rest of the time I am deceiving you all.

LADy's <~~ for all the females
dOrks <~~ for all the males.
and a seperate sn for just my mobile aim.
but I hate it when someone's on my list and I can't remember who they are.. *sigh* and it bugs me and I ask them and they're like "My gosh you don't know who I am?

Using Trillian...
in case anyone's wondering, trillian pro isn't worth the money :(
is smarterchild still freeeeeeeee?
They relaunched it and have a free preview for the new features. $9.99/year. Hence, it takes it my abuse.

Defaults. There are a lot of "Other Contacts" that should be shifted around.
