>> school has never in my life been a big priority to me. i dont know why just no motivation i guess...and it shows because im 120 credits behind and im going to be a senior this year...sad right? ive been to 4 high schools and was expelled from 2. even sadder...

>> its obvious that school isnt really important to me...but how about you? were you the nerd that dished out 4.0's or higher every report card? were you at home studying when your friends were getting high? did you refrain from any relationships because you felt the need to concentrate solely on school?

It is a big deal to get a high school diploma. And go from there. Gah, I sound like a dad. Everyone develops at their own pace. Why do you see people in there mid 30's and 40's going back to school.

School was important to me, I guess. I had to live up to the expectations of everyone around me, like "Oh look, your cousin got into Harvard, Oh look he got a full scholarship blah blah." Yeah I had straight A's. But, I had a normal social life and my fair share of loving in High School.

i didn't not get all 4.0s and i did not refrain from relationships. but i was an overachiever. i think i was the first person in the history of my high school to be on both the math team and the football team. there were times when i would be at the school for about 13 hours because i had football practice and then musical rehearsal.

School's kinda important to me. I try to keep my grades only at As and Bs, and an occasional C. Nothing worse. I never study but I always manage to get good results. I procrastinate like hell, and still manage to get through very fine. Like a month long project was started and finished the night before the deadline and I got the highest mark in class. Usually I try hard at the beginning of the year, and start to slack off as time passes by. Mostly because I get tired of doing things, and lazy and stressed. As long as I don't fail, even though I almost failed Geography. It's not good to sleep through half the classes, and doodle the other half. I couldn't help it if Geography was intensely boring.
How'd you get expelled twice?

School was and still is important to me. Part of it is my parents, my personality, and my friends. Everyone I surrounded myself with encouraged academics...almost more than a social life. I was a bit of an overcheiver myself... the "nerd" that I am. Actually, I was never considered a nerd or looked down upon. Most of the people in my schools in the past have respected me not only because of my achievements but because they just liked my character I guess. At least that's what they tell me. I just take it all as a compliment. Anyway, I see school as a means to elevate myself from what my parents are doing now. They own a restaurant and work long hours day in and day out. I just don't see myself doing that in the future. Not that my parents wanted to work in this area in the first place. It's all they could see themselves doing in order to support my brother and I through school. In junior high, I won this medallion for basically being the highest female achiever in the school. That was soooo freakn long ago. In high school, I was that ambitious type who wanted to run for every office there was. LOL. I was even voted "Most likely to be President of the United States" in the yearbook. The good thing about school is that it's not all about books (despite what my parents tell me).=) I learned a lot about myself too during the entire process.

>> i got expelled for non-attendance...dumb right? i just simply didnt go. as much as i wish that school was important to me...i really cant bring myself to accept school as a priority...i know im smart...my teachers say im wasting my intelligence by not applying myself and for the most part i think what they say is true. everything assignment i tried at i got high marks and i wouldnt show up for weeks at a time to class and ace every final. sad huh? if id just attend i woulda passed with flying colors...but eh...no motivation i guess...*sigh*...any suggestions?

hahhah that's really funny. you don't show up enough so they tell you to never show up again. hahhahhah!

but don't worry about it. you've got the amazing power of youth. everybody goes their own pace at finding what motivates them.

i'd like to say though, that since you're defiant and intelligent, there's really only two states you'd end up in: either genius or insanity. good luck! hahhah!

utter genius!

i think i'll stay comfortably in the middle. not intelligent enough to have the self-assurance needed for defiance, and not defiant enough to free my thinking from pre-conceived ideas imposed on me. oh boy! what a vicious cycle indeed!
