After a long, arduous night of hard drinking, in order to avoid the hangover-from-hell, I suggest the following:
1. Before going to sleep, drink one (1) bottle of Gatorade and take two (2) aspirin.
2. The next morning, one (1) bowl of haejang-guk -- a soup that can be ordered at most Korean restaurants. Here's a description from http://www.lifeinkorea.com: (http://www.lifeinkorea.com)
People who are up at dawn (taxi drivers, travelers, market workers, or gamblers) like to eat this as an eye opener soup. Many people claim it works great for recovering from hangovers after a late night of drinking. Its restorative properties are reputed to clear even the sleepiest or most hung-over people. Bones are boiled hard, and chopped radish, radish leaves, cabbage, green onions, and fresh blood (direct from the slaughter house) are added to stock to make a highly nutritious soup.
I haven't had a hangover since the 11th grade. I have this wonderful hangover defense mechanism called vomiting...

How about drinking a glass of water or more for each drink you down? To dilute the alcohol in your system. It still leaves you a bit out of it the next morning. Just a bit. But I'm guessing it's better than leaning over the toilet vomiting.

i don't know about curing hangovers, but i've found that if i eat curry before i drink, it's harder for me to get drunk. or if i eat curry after i drink, the alcohol goes away quicker.

People...I speak the truth!!:) I've tried nearly remedy out there, from eating tons of bread before to trying to eat my way out of my drunken state. You should always drink lots of fluids before going to sleep after drinking because your body starts to suck whatever juice you have in your overnight. When you wake up with the headache, your body's saying it needs fluid but it's too damn late -- you're stuck with feelin like crap.
And for anyone who's ever had haejang-guk...that shit will cure *anything*. I've used it for a whole host of self-induced maladies.

Yo AB, the haejan-guk works. The only difference I did was before I crashed this morning I drank 2 pedialytes instead of the gatorade. Gatorade too heavy for me. Woke up had the haejan-guk, Problem is now, I can't fall asleep, I'm like wired after drinking the soup. What the hell is in that stuff and I'm horny as hell
Thanks for the 411.

I have no idea what's in it, but I tend to think eating something spicy/hot when you're smashed is better than something bland. re: feeling the horn...now you know why Koreans are they way they are...! We're eat viagra for soup!
Funny thing is...I should have taken my own advice the other night, at my friend's wedding reception. Got shit-faced...I remember coming home, and then next thing I know I'm in bed, still in my suit, and the birds are chirping...

I think the most important thing is just getting hydrated. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids before going to bed and in the morning, have some soup -- the spicier, the better.

Yeah I knew about the aspirin/tylenol, hydrating yourself and replinishing your electrolytes. I used to do that after a night of partying. But, I never felt that refreshed and fully recovered. It's the soup man, the soup. It's an elixir and an aphrodesiac! I had other spicy korean soups before, like yukaejan <spelling> when my ex-korean gf made it for me when I had a cold. But, the haejan guk actually worked as intended (minus the horniness which I didn't need  ). I owe ya one bossman. Haha this is sounding like an infomercial.

you can try curry. i've never tried it to cure hangovers, but when i have curry before drinking, it's harder for me to get drunk, and when i have curry after i drink, the alcohol goes away quicker.

Aw, I gotta try that haejan-guk stuff. If it makes you feel all refreshed and stuff, I need it even if I don't drink. Late nights and early mornings don't do me good. It's just that I don't wanna drink it and go humping furniture.

Ditto. One drink and I'm red as a lobster. Two and I want to rape my husband. Three and it's worshipping the porcelain God.
As you can guess, my husband is a fan of the two drink scenario.

hahhah that's too funny
you know there are tons of mention of these miracle sex drugs in classical chinese stories that make women instantly horny. some of them are so potent that they must immediately have sex or else they die. and if you think about it, the concoction of the idea of such drugs make alot of sense because it just wasn't easy getting laid back then what with strict traditional values and all.

Naw, it's just not drinking I need it for. I need it to get myself up and going after sleepless nights. Besides, I don't get hangovers often because I drink a lot of water post-drink. Also because I don't drink until I drunk as hell. I usually stop at the buzz and I only go slightly drunk at occasions like weddings. I find mixing drinks pretty fun too. And hey, don't think I'm bad or anything just because I enjoy drinking even when I'm so young. I don't even do it often.

Hmmm...you might want to apply some gentle pressure to your brakes, Saiko :P Going at this speed, this early, makes you a prime candidate for a whole host of creepy stuff.

Naw, I don't do it often. Just every once in a while I have a drink or two. Hardly anything. Just your innocent teenage drinking. :D
... except when I go to weddings.
