HAHAH, too bad i can't do rails yet, but if i did i'm going to invest some money in a cup. maybe that's also darwinism at its best.

Yeah I agree nature can be cruel sometimes................

And yeah, I would STRONGLY advise in buying a cup, especially after hearing about that. Luckily, the guy I was talking about has other brothers who can carry on the family name, so at least he'll have nephews and nieces ;)

I didn't dare ask.

The funny thing about it is is that he didn't really tell me directly. After he told me the story, I jokingly said, "I guess you won't be able to have kids then". And then he was like, "yeah". And then I was like, "are you serious?". And he was like, "yeah that's what the doctors told me." And I thought he was joking, and I kept on asking him over and over and he told me yeah that he can't have kids because he smashed his nuts.

If I lost the ability to get an erection or masturbate, what's the point in living? ;) j/k

Costco sells 8x10" prints for $1.99. Astounding. And with Fuji Frontier machines, you don't have to worry about whether or not their photo "lab" staff are morons.

For The SPOT Secret Santa, I did something EVIL. Okay, it wasn't EVIL, but I felt kind of bad afterwards.

So for my SS, I put his present inside the box of a Gundam model, the kind of you have to put together. Note that this particular model costs something like $60+ dollars, and our limit was $10. I had it all set up. This was my brother's, he made it, and then broke it, so I figured he wouldn't mind if I used the box. I put the present at the bottom of the box wrapped in butcher paper. I then put the cardboard poster over it, then all the used plastic parts on top of that. To hide it even more, I even stuck the instruction manual in there.

When he opened his gift, he had this HUGE smile on his face. He looked so happy, like he was going to cry out of sheer joy that his present made everyone else's gifts look not that great.

But when the secret was finally revealed, he had a look of disappointment and sadness on his face. Man, I felt SO bad. He says that he still likes the gift I got him (a stuffed Curious George plushie), but what could beat a $60+ Gundam?

All people really need is someone to be with. They search high and low, near and far, in the pursuit of the one thing that everyone should never be without: companionship. A good friend of mine is gay and sometimes he gets very lonely (especially around the holidays) and often comes to me for a chat like he did about half an hour ago in spite of the snow outside. I listened to him tell me about how he's still waiting for "Mr. Right" to come along and how all he wants is love someone and be loved back in return. We've had this talk before and you'd think that I'd be tired of the same old story, but in truth I'm not. How can I turn a friend away?

Anyway, as I lend him my ear, in my head I'm thinking, "You know, why can't people understand that one of the most basic human instincts is to seek an emotional connection with another individual?" This type of link transcends race, religion, and sex. If I can be happy with my girlfriend and possibly marry her in the future (hypothetically at this point, of course) why can't the same option be open to my friend and his significant other? It's terribly unfair and terribly selfish, I think. What gives an individual the right to deprive another of the chance to be with someone?

I listen to my friend and when it gets so bad that he actually begins to cry it gets pretty awful. So much pain, so much internal suffering. What did he do to deserve the kind of negativity society places on his sexual orientation? I don't know what to do. He's so unhappy that sometimes it scares me, my girlfriend, and my best friend. Even if he finds someone he and his partner will never share in the benefits offered to heterosexual couples. Narrowmindedness will see to that. It's very sad. :frown:

Aghhhh!....I gotta write my Statement of Purpose Essay in english for my application at Yonsei Grad School and I'm making excuses to slack and surf on the net. It is supposed to be about my personal interests, career goals, and ed. background.

I've noticed that I can write long and substantial essays when I know what I'm going to be talking about. But I find myself struggling on this one because I basically have to bullshit about being interested in studying there, when in reality I'm getting there just to avoid the army for a while and buy myself some time to get a good job overseas.

Yeah, but still...the idea of eating a huge bag of chips and salsa tickles me. I'd do it if I wasn't so mind-numbingly paranoid about getting sick and missing lectures. Gasp!

I'm going to hit the gym once I get back in preparation for my chip & salsa night o' fun.

hmm during my senior year of high school when i didnt give a shit anymore i bought hella bags of doritos (regular and ranch, yum) and just pigged out on em (all by myself, the big kind too). luckily it didnt take too much a toll on me i guess but i only did that for like a couple days.

My house may have otherworldly inhabitants. I *think* I saw a man in brown clothes walk up the stairs and take a right turn heading to my sister's room. That was earlier this afternoon. He seemed pretty solid and I must've looked at him for a good ten seconds before I turned away. When I went upstairs there was no one there. At first I thought it was my father, but my father doesn't wear brown. Weird.

Maybe I've been staring at my computer screen too long.

No, not inebriated. I'm usually quite sober during the day time. It's a mystery. My dorm is also haunted so seeing, hearing, and feeling things isn't exactly a big event with me.

Sitting in the computer lab waiting for lectures to start. No work left to do. Pretty bored. Thinking about paying a visit to Waterstone's to buy a new book to read. There's a guy sitting right in front me who, in the previous term, tried to convince us to sell books on a door-to-door basis in the US over the summer. He doesn't look like a talented salesman, Mr. Book Selling Individual.

Amnesty International meeting earlier today. Letter writing campaign. Helping political prisoners, I am.

I've graduated from the Young Liberals of Canada (www.youngliberals.ca/) and am now a full fledged member of the Liberal Party. (http://www.liberal.ca/) Sure, I could've become a full member earlier on, but it would've cost me more. I'm cheap. The Liberal Premier of BC sends out letters to all members and the one I received looks an awful lot like the one this guy and I drafted two years ago. It's good to see that they like our work even though it's been chopped up and hacked to bits. It's also funny how I've been admitted in absentia.

Okay, too much writing.

Sunday sessions at the law library are always fun. Today the place was deserted and I think I was the only student there among the shelves. The only sound was the tapping of the keys on my laptop as I prepared cases for tomorrow's tutorial. I find comfort in spending time among old books. The Internet is a nice research tool, but it still can't beat flipping (very carefully) through a three hundred year old volume of cases and statutes.

Hi, folks. I'm borrowing someone else's computer right now. At the moment, I have an appointment scheduled with a neurosurgeon on Tuesday. He will let me know what he thinks about performing the operation on my tumor.

I'm warned that two likely outcomes of the surgery will be some paraylsis on one side of my face (which will do wonders for my boyish good looks ) and deafness in one of my ears. There's also the possibility that my swallowing will be affected after the operation, and I might need a device inserted into my body to help me swallow.

See what you have to look forward to, kids?

Well, that's it for now. Maybe I'll be able to borrow this computer again before too long.

Central London was hit by a snowstorm at exactly 5.08 PM today - I had just left work and was heading to a pub for a swift pint. Almost a half a centimeter away from my nasal septum. Isn't that what it's called?

Anyhow, I popped it because it looked like snot and I don't want to walk around looking like I have a snotty nose. Now my left nostril is red, reminiscent of a poorly wiped nosebleed instead.

Nah, my friend saw the picture on her an acquaintances's Xanga, and pointed me to it. Then I commented on her Xanga about her background. I didn't say anything mean. I was just like, "Nice background. Where did you get it?" She commented on my Xanga saying that she got it off her friend. I got the link to that journal. Today I cried, for the first time since my grandmother died. Then I smoked a lot of cigarettes and ate cheese snacks until I felt better.

OK, my fingers smell like turd, and I think I'm going to wash them before I touch them. Maybe I got too far up in my butt the last time I took a shit and wiped it (about 20 or 30 minutes ago).

Because the Pats won the superbowl people are riotting outside the building. Burning stuff, jumping off roafs, police is here too and they are about to charge on their horses.

celebrations i guess; see la lakers 2000-2002  well, up here the oaklanders rioted after the raiders lost the previous super bowl. now *that* was just ridiculous (the blowout, i mean)

this really sucks. we just had the annual senior play - basically we mess around with one of shakespeare's comedies (performed "as you like it" this year) and everybody else is at places and stuff. im stuck home because i couldn't get a ride afterwards....

I love how the message from Jack Daniels concerning the responsible use of alcohol is in such small lettering at the bottom of the advertisement.

That having been said, Jack Daniels is a good friend of mine.

I have to confess something.

This afternoon I was in the law library studying and this girl sitting next to me (a classmate of mine that I really, really dislike because she's such a snot) passed gas in an appalling loud manner that sounded quite disgusting. She acted as though nothing happened and didn't have the courtesy to move. After lectures I approached the most gossipy person in the law society and deliberately lied saying that the girl that I didn't like soiled herself and ran sobbing into the bathroom with large stain on her trousers earlier that afternoon. Now everyone thinks she shit her pants and I feel horrible. I am *so* going to hell for this.

It was wrong. But she's horrible to international students who aren't "English" enough. She's basically a raging xenophobe (or what I'd like to call a racist of the first degree.) My friend once caught her making disparaging remarks about Japanese students and Durham has an exchange programme with Teikyo University in Japan. So yes, I think she deserved it. Actually, she deserves worse for the cruel things she's done.

Anybody know of any really stupid phrases, comebacks, etc.

Like I remember back in like 7th grade whenever somebody cracked on somebody else, the dude who got cracked on would come back with, "That's what yo' mouth say". Of course that's what my mouth said! What else is going to say it?????

back in like 9th grade i had this idea of making a mutual fund and opening it to everyone. so one of my classmates was like, wtf? and he goes up to one of his friends and says, "ashley, [me] wants to create a mutual fund. would you invest in his mutual fund...or my penis?" and she says "i think i'll go with hal's penis." so i say, "well *i* can guarantee my fund will rise..."
