How did you react to them?
A friend gave me a nice story:
He lives in a town that's over 50% Asian, 20% other, and 30% white.
There was this white guy that cut him off because God forbid, we don't drive faster than 40 MPH into a parking lot. He said something to the effect of "Stupid Orientals."
So, after they both parked their cars, he walked up to this moron and said the following:
"You know, you're not all that smart. You chose to use a racial slur against a race that is the majority of this large town. That's not really a wise decision because we could easily bash your brains in. Let me tell you something. In this town, you're the gook. Not me."
Reaction? He just kept nodding while looking at the ground.

Bwahahaha! OWNED! We need more ballsy AMs like that. Only way to stop a bully is to stand up to him. Just be sure you're trained in H2H combat so you can walk your talk tho...

Inferiors' opinions of me don't matter. They're just Chinese-in-denial anyway. ;)

Good for him for standing up to it.
But...really, whether or not Asians are the majority or a minority in that town is irrelevant. Racism is fundamentally stupid, and implied threats of head-bashing, in my opinion, only obscures the point.

I don't really react. . .At least, not with violence.
Sometimes I may give a small curse-out. Usually, I don't really care, even if I'm giving a verbal whipping. Especially if the "act" is just words.
I know where the guilty person stands.
I think it's the racists who don't commit acts letting people know that they are racist who are more worrisome. Not a guy bashfully yet openly calling a person a derogatory term.

verbal whippings is more my style. that way the take-home message is 'this is why what you said is wrong', not 'don't say this or you'll get hurt'.

if someone is actin all hard up on you cuz of your race, let them talk shit and while they talking just poke them in the eyes then they cant see shit and just beat the shit out of them, the next day they be across the street

Dear God that's appalling! Answering to racial slurs is one thing, but to threaten is an entirely different matter. It's actions like these that can cause serious harm to both sides if misconstrued. While I'm not opposed to severe verbal lashings, I have to draw the line at threats that I cannot reasonably carry out in due course.

hmmm... but look how much more ed norton's character by befriending the laundry character rather than being scared by his idle threats.

hey, if you're gonna take a line from a movie, then you're already putting faith in the fictional sitting being applicable in real life.
In real life, ed norton's character would've been dead before anyone woulda made that wise-ass statement to him.

... i've been luckily insulated from a lot of the racism that exists out there...
ucla - 45% asian
cerritos - god only knows how many asians
orange county - got its fair amount of asians
so, i mean, on the random chance that something like that happens to me? rare, but i'll be sure to post it here when it happens.

I had quite a few racist comments were said to me in school, I was pretty much the only Asian in the whole school. I pretty much let them say what they wanted to say because my friend, who was black, tried to stick up for himself when somebody called him a nigger. Obviously, it escalated into a shouting match, and then a fight. The two got sent to the principle's office. The white guy got a warning not to tease other students. The black student got a few days detention for starting a fight. It happened to him again when another kid told him to go back to Africa. So really, if you tried to fight the racism, you'd get punished and made to look like an idiot in front of the white students... not worth my time.

When someone tells me a racial slur I dont know why but I always tend to be sarcastic(as I always am anyways) to them, they get all defensive and responding, "Im just joking..." but sheesh so am I, idiot!
My college is made up of atleast about 1% asians! Yipee, I could even count every asian!

Usually i stay quiet in school, i never want to make any enemies, made ltos of friends, but once people start fucking with me thats when you gotta handle your shit, let them know whats what, thats why makin friends is good so they can get your back if the other person gets their friends, but usually after i kick their ass they will have no face to tell their friend that he got his ass kick, especially since i look very young

This only encourages them in the long run because they think you're passive about it. These days you can raise a significant enough stink about it in the media that even the most racist white faculty would think twice about doing this. You could also pull the ole "covert" revenge tactics to make the racist's life a living hell. Be creative about it and play dirty if the system is against you. You better be prepared to go all the way with some of these assholes because they will fuck you over first chance they get. Kicking their ass works but it's dangerous to do it when you're the 1% there. Maybe i'm sounding extreme but sometimes a message needs to be sent that asians won't be dicked over if the system won't be by our side. Not every civil rights movement started at the university picket line.

I hope your dad turned a 180 about face and walked right out after he said that too otherwise it was a pointless remark if he still gave them his money.

he should've spoken to the manager. That woulda gotten the salespeople fired and he still woulda been able to buy the cars from the place.

Nah.
I just think he's going to revoke his ability to use it where he isn't.
Doubt you're going to be able to change his opinion anyway.
