I've been around a while and I've been to a few different countries and I can't say that I've ever run across any kind of descrimination or hatered of Asian people. I don't understand all of this talk about Asians not feeling beautiful, low self esteem. Where is this happening?
I know some people who don't care for Asians but they are also the people who don't care for blacks or Mexicans either. They are just frightened prejudice people. My feeling is that those people secretly hate themselves...
As far as white people exploiting the Asian culture and its people, well, the reality is that white people exploit everything and everyone. Another reality seems to be that Asian men exploit their women as much as men from any other race. Men have been exploiting women forever. It's not right but it certainly isn't limited to big bad whitey.
We are all guilty of something. In general, human beings are so flawed that if we were a science experiment, I think the scientist would destroy us and start over.

Are you even asian?
Edit:
Hi, I'm Velusion. I'm not asian. I'm not anything. I'm just me. Should I leave? Here is my website: www.clipboardvideo.com . I do special make-up effects and work on indi films when I can. I like cats but not dogs. I think the Matrix kicks ass but my favorite movie is the Exorcist. I'm 39 and have 2 sons: Keith and Alex. My wife, Sarah, is from the Philippines. We've been married for 18 years.
Looked at your other posts so I guess this answers my question. In all honesty if you aren't asian-american you can't really presume to tell us what sort of experiences we face. You don't see the same world we do because you don't _experience_ it the same way. Like that old proverb about walking a mile in someone else's shoes before you can judge their life experience. It's also a bit arrogant for you to come in here and claim that we're just imagining things and throw out a collection of unfounded reasons. This is something i've heard from white people for I don't know how long and it's belittling and insulting. So before you come in here telling us what's what why don't you educate yourself on the issues we're talking about first.
Just because YOU don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen to us. Maybe you need to open your eyes first. There's a lot of discrimination against asians that remains unspoken in the U.S. media. First step: read about the model minority myth sometime and how it's used to perpetrate racism against us.

i'm glad you're honest, but there is discrimination and racism of people of all races..including whites and asians. perhaps, you haven't experienced racism against asians, but there are countless incidents of discrimination historically and present day. look it up on the internet or even in our yw articles of incidents.

haha, just playing man. yeah you might not see it, but hey can anybody really know how it feels like to be of a different race or gender? i know you don't mean any harm by expressing what you felt, but just trust us on this...it exists.

I hate people like you. Welcome to yw, we have nice people and mean people, guess which category I'm in. But you can learn, but just to let you know presuming any shit isn't going to make you lovable.

I don't understand all of this talk about Asians not feeling beautiful, low self esteem. Where is this happening?Jumpin' Jehosaphat -- that's it! Now I can dismantle the site and begin telling thousands of other Asians out there that bad things like hate crimes, the promotion of negative stereotypes, discrimination, racial profiling, or exploitation simply don't exist! This whole time we've been feeding ourselves lies or half-truths (collectively).
Thank God someone was able to come here and show us the light. After all, he does have the requisite understanding and perspective need to judge other people. He's been everywhere!
Closing:)
